Hi OcUK community.

Im currently in the process of buying a new gaming PC. I have around £1000 to play around with and would like the best performance for the money. I already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse so will literally only be needing the tower. I was hoping to get maybe a nvidia 480GTX as ive read a lot of good reviews for it, so if you can fit this into a spec that would be awesome.

Also all the parts will be ordered from overclockers.

Thanks in advance

depends if you want an AMD rig or an Intel Rig.

Heres an intel rig.

Do you need an OS? At that price point, you'd be better off with an i5/Phenom II 955. Then the £100 saved over an i7 build could be used to fund the case missing from the above spec :p.

games like call of duty will have no lag at all with any of the specs suggested, expect 60+ frame rates all the time with these builds

ok nice, because the whole reasoning behind this is because ive got a NVIDIA 3D glasses and monitor on order so wanted the PC to accommodate that

Erm no operating system i have my windows 7 ultimate copy, i should have mentioned that before :] I also have my computer here which has a coolermaster 850W modular PSU and a cooler master stacker 831 but i dont know if its wise to break the system up like that( it could have saved me a few pounds)

in that case, you may want a bigger case (such as HAF 932) than any of the ones suggested, incase you decide to SLI in the future

the reason I say this is that 3D vision will cut your usual performance in half, so as more graphically demanding games come out, your frames will drop and you will have to start turning down settings.

expect around 30fps on games such as Metro 2033 with 3d vision

Heres another. 1000w power supply just incase you decide to upgrade to something that need more power in the future.More reliable sticks of ram.

Im going to use my old pieces Anuraj because it will save a lot of money.

Also eXalin at the moment im using games such as WoW,COD and battlefield 2. with the setup you have provided and the nvidia vision what frames would you suggest i would get please?

those sort of games you should have no problem getting 60fps especially with a gtx 480, its only games like crysis and metro that may push your system to the limit.

the six core is not needed as nothing utilizes six cores at the moment, there will be little benefit in getting this cpu.

also he doesnt really need to spend 66quid on the noctua dual radiator unless he plans on overclocking the hell out of his CPU

Who know he might overclock a lot. In the future six cores will probably be used to the maximum.
