I'm sick of foreign people

Im pretty easy go lucky, and if someone wants to come here and work and pay taxes i will welcome them with both arms.

What does annoy me is when i pop down to my local asda or tesco and see HUGE families of eastern europeans, or asians with 2 or 3 stacked trollys FULL of brand items and seeing them pay for it will with bloody vouchers they somehow get for free from the government.

Myself and the mrs both work long hours and do all we can to keep a roof over our heads and its quite an irritation to see these scroungers getting it all for free. And this isnt just now and again, its EVERY damn time i go shopping.

Fair enough i also see white "british" people using vouchers and getting stuff for free, but in all honesty id say its 1/10 that fit into that category. They annoy me in equal measure but i find the discrepancy in numbers quite disturbing.

Now i can only say here that i am not racist, i have many friends who are not "white english" and when asked about this kind of thing they ALL agree that britain has become like a dumping ground for scroungers from around the world.

Something has to give sooner or later. Too many scroungers of ANY background will drag us all down sooner or later.

My sister in law worked in Barcelona for a year and according to her its the same there more or less... i think any big metropolitan city will of course have a large diversity in ethnic backgrounds, its only natural. But how these people conduct ther lives is what makes the differance.

If they come to work and contribute we all benefit. If they come to scrounge and stay isolated and refuse to join in, we all suffer.

The only groups that qualify for vouchers are those who we do not permit to work. The need to provide for them is a direct result of that policy, so clearly the solution is to remove the policy preventing them supporting themselves, and then force them to support themselves.

Good, if it weren't for them this country would struggle. If their all here to work and bring skills into the country then let them in, but maybe set a limit not to overcrowd and already overcrowded country. Also don't just let them in so they can live off the state, they must prove their going to work and bring in skills.

Maybe don't allow so many foreign students in because of the lack of places for English students.

Oh i quite agree.

The thing is dolph, the good majority i see are fit and healthy in appearance.. so clearly they cant all be unfit to work. Of course there are a number of legal reasons why they cant be allowed to work but it just sickens me to see so many getting a free ticket.

We should allow in those in genuine need ( persecution, fear of death in their own country ) as we are a modern caring democracy. Also those who wish to work and more importantly can PROVE they would be a benefit to us... as they do in Australia.

The time for wasters, lazy bums and scrounging country hoppers must come to an end. We all know it, yet nothing ever seems to change.

As for our own indiginous scroungers... why not make those capable of work do some community work to justify the handout. It would keep the work ethic going and would improve the appearance of run down areas. I would be quite happy to do a few days work like this if i were signing on.

Im sure such an idea would cause uproar and infringe so many human rights that we would have to pay compensation...

It really would help to keep those out of work in a routine, even if it were 2 or 3 days a week. I know from first hand experiance how soul destroying it can be, to be jobless and left on the heap.

I fell into a rut and my week consisted of nothing but job applications and moping round the house. I lived of savings and started the downward spirial of feeling down and eating to make myself feel better.

I managed to grab myself by the nuts and pick myself up again, and went self employed but i can see just how easy it is to get into a rut.

If i had been on benefits and doing work 2 or 3 days a week i honestly think it would have helped me to stay active and more work minded. Instead of slowly becoming a living potatoe.

I'm English, 32, and have lived in London since 1992. When trying to remember the last time I went a few days without seeing foreign people, I have to go back to before I came to London.

To clarify, by foreign people I don't mean all those who are not Anglo-Saxon. I mean people, of all colours, who come from foreign countries. (Seems obvious really, afterall that's what foreign means, and yet idiots abound hence feeling the need for clarification...)

Not Anglo-Saxon? I'd warrant that is a large percentage of white British people.

I'm sick of it. Supposedly I live in England, and yet I can't even go out for an hour without passing somebody foreign, without hearing some African jabbering away to his pal on the bus at twice the normal volume, or a Polish couple walking past me on the street talking Polish to their child (why the hell aren't they teaching the child English?)

I feel like I live in a foreign land. I get it on the street, on public transport, and I get it at work (the construction industry). I'm sick of not being able to enjoy being around English people in England, of foreigners being constantly present rather than occasionally present.

How is the presence (admittedly a large one) of "foreign" people stopping you enjoying being around English people?

I want to live in an area that has a large English majority, but such places are becoming rather scarce, and those that remain I cannot relocate to because my work traps me in London.

England is dead, or at least it is in the South-East.

What does England mean to you?

OP, why exactly is it a bad thing that there are lots of foreigners? All you seem to have are vacuous opinions that it's preventing you from enjoying the company of fellow Englishmen (which is complete ******** by the way).

England for the English is such an hilariously out-dated concept, that all I can suggest is you pull your head out of your arse and stop being such an intolerant ****-head.

Funnily enough this topic came up yesterday when I was speaking to someone, it seems that the immigration rules have recently been changed so that the partner of a British Citizen coming to the UK is not legally allowed to work for 6 months e.g. they get granted a visa and then aren't allowed to work here until this period expires. If this is indeed the case (and I've no reason to doubt the persons word) then it seems incredibly silly unless there's something obvious I'm missing when the person would otherwise be earning money and contributing to society/paying taxes etc.

I don't know if that would be the case for the families you've seen, quite possibly not, but it's at least one potential explanation for why otherwise fit and healthy people won't be working.

I must say, there is not one time I have walked across the Millennium Bridge without seeing an Asian group taking pictures :)

Not that it bothers me, its just something I find funny. Not once... no matter how many times I walk across it.

Speaking as someone who is currently living abroad. I'm glad that people with such small minded views are in the minority.

London has been an international city for nearly 1/2 a millenia now it's nothing new.

or a Polish couple walking past me on the street talking Polish to their child (why the hell aren't they teaching the child English?)

Given that the child will be learning English in every single interaction with its environment with the exception of speaking to its parents (school, daily life etc.), surely even a bigot would allow the parents to impart their own tongue to the child in private?

If fate sent you oversees (perhaps to rebuild the empire by killing johnny foreigner or doing a good bit of church of england missionary work) would you want to continue speaking English to your family?

Don't blame the immigrants, they do it because they can, it's not there fault. You should vent your anger to the goverment.

A couple of weeks ago at work we had a lorry come in from france (A fridge lorry with yummy yogurt on it, not that it matters lol)

When it pulled up we heard banging on the sides and people shouting "out, out" so we called the police, 45mins later they arrived and opened the back doors, 6 people inside. While they was in the back of the car the officer was on the radio asking what he should do (never been in the situation before) and was told back to the station to be charged and then they would be set free.

So if we have no laws (well none that do anything) for illegal immigrants, don't exspect legal ones to slow down anytime soon

*edit* the guy did say they used to take them to some immigration place in birmingham, but they don't even do this anymore, couldn't belive it myself, shocking.

Only non EU people. There are no restrictions for EU folk like my wife (Finnish).

Agreed it is partly the governments fault for allowing it to go on for so long. Also like many have said, if someone is giving you free money would you not take it?

Surely something has got to give, will this be when there are no jobs available because our population is over-capped (which it already is) or when we go into another recession because our deficit gets larger.
