Bedford Autodrome Sat 28th August - £199

Boo! I'm going to the evening session on the 3rd Sep at Bedford as my housemates can't make that weekend. Have fun though!

Looking forward to this, not been to Bedford in my car since...last year now I think! Just hope the weather is nice and that it isn't tooooo busy (which being the only Saturday event until October, I can imagine it will be)

Would like to join in but we're a bit skint after paying for the respray plus we need new tyres soon. Will probably have to give it a miss :(

Probably would but the bank holiday weekend will involve me re-fitting all the suspension arms to my car, all sprayed up and with new bushes.

So even though I only live 10mins away, I don't a HoverDC2 will quite make it :p

Enjoy.

Still spaces! Anymore people interested or is it just going to be an intimate one-on-one session between myself and Nick?

might sound dumb, but what helmets do people wear on these track days? Has it gotta be some kind of specific rating on the back?

I just hire the ones they have on offer. Usually get an open face helmet myself.

It's a pain I can't make this guys, but seeing as I'm already booked to go on Friday "evening" I can't really afford two in one week :(:p

How did you get on in the end?

Great day yesterday with Nick, couldn't have asked for a better day, lovely weather, nice and quiet (no queuing which is a rarity at Bedford!) so lots of time out on track, think I managed about 5 or 6 outings on the day covering about 120 miles of track time.

The car itself was great, so confidence inspiring and had so much to give, tyres were brilliant, a fair bit of graining but once I had some heat into them they gripped fantastically and were very consistent.

Only downside were the brakes, went to the day with already slightly dodgy disks, vibration/juddering at high speed and throughout the day they got worse and worse, once I had some heat in the pads they seemed to stop ok but through the wheel they felt really bad and sounded horrid too so by the end of the day I had little confidence in them, some new disks should sort that out.

I've still got 1 video to upload still but have 3 uploaded so far which are below, the 4th session video I have a mild outburst when the Porsche I'd just got past looked like he was trying to overtake again but on the tightish kink of the circuit, fortunately he didn't make the move!

In process of uploading the 3rd recorded session and will post later...

Looks very good indeed. :)

Glad to see the AD08's performing very well on track and still remaining progressive. :)

I go this coming Friday :)

I hope we get the same weather! Looks like a good session there, as you say doesn't look too crowded. I shall have some footage too, though not sure the quality will be quite the same. I'm hoping to mix it up with some in car and then a bumper cam. We'll see if they allow that! :p

Was a great day - car seems to be coping very well now after getting the Geometry sorted. Sorted one video, but got a few more to go:

Which discs are you going for spaz?

I have the Brembo plain 'High Carbons' on my R26, they are much better than the standard drilled ones!

KTEC have some tasty offerings too. It's a shame the brakes are so poor on the Megane's. At least they've sorted them on the 250.
