**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Enjoying this game a lot. I'm about 13th in the Silver league as Terran and absolutely desperate to advance to gold league.

I would say my macro is good, and my micro is coming along. I even understand counters to some extent.However I really struggle in terms of build orders. I nearly always have far too much minerals and gas, and as I can't work out what to spend it on I just spam the build que's with units in mid - late game.

Has anyone got some fairly general build orders to go with?

Well build another factory/starpoint/barracks and pump out units that you need? build engineering bay and armoury to upgrade your unit's armour and weapons.
 
Whoever wanted a TvT build, try this one out
ive won all but 1 TvT's I've played in diamond league, probs around 9-10 in total.

this guy was rank 1 Diamond when i played him.

Its a nice opening build, and if you keep your macro up, you're able to get very nice offensive going as well as a strong economy.
 
Seriously annoyed right now. I cant seem to win games as T even though my macro seems fine until mid-late game. Just had a 1 hour game, yes 1 hour completely ridiculous i had turtled as usual built up what i thought was a decent army to try counter his MMM, tanks, thors and whatever else he had. Get through about 3 of his bases, chase what i think is his final orbital comand around the map only to find hes got another base in the corner with about 300 battlecruisers in. Nothing i can do he steamrollers through everything i have panic building vikings wasnt enough and i got crushed.
Very much doing my head in whenever i try rush it fails and i get beat within 5 minutes yet when i turtle i get trashed anyway.

Your last 10 (I think?) replays are saved regardless of whether you chose to save them or not. They're in My Documents/Starcraft II/Accounts/{random numbers}/{more random numbers}/Replays/Unsaved

its nothing spectacular, but its a good example of a decent TvT build with half decent micro.
Mainly for the chap that was having probs with TvT chk5 was it?

not bad considering im a zergie ^^

ive uninstalled and reinstalled mine several times and its kept all my saved games, i guess they come down with your account.

I had like a 12 game losing streak last night :(

Made worse, three games where I was in a winning position my computer acted up and I forfeited :(

this has happened to me loads recently! around 10 of my losses are from BSOD or random crashes. Its weird, only does it when playing SC since the latest patch.
 
I have been looking at this game for some time and the fact that I just remembered I have a £26.00 gift voucher for HMV has made me take the plunge.

As long as the shop has in in Basingstoke I shall be practising tonight.
 
I'v come up with a full proof strat for fending of any bouts of nerd rage which may take hold after a frustrating lose!

bad lose to a worse player / played terrible = 20 push ups
moderate lose to a better player / even'ish game = 10 push ups
cheese rush the wrong base = 5mile run

Are many people getting random crashes then?

Sometimes when loading a map it'll cut to desktop and pop up that blizzard crash reporter jazz. Had one or two bluescreens but not recently.

im getting it every now and then, but only since the most recent patch. im just holding out hoping the next patch will sort it.

Mainly because im lazy and don't mind having a few losses! lol
