Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, it's the first OcUK Forums Starcraft II Release Tournament!


How will the tournament work?

This is a 1v1 tournament. The structure really depends on the number of people we get, but the idea will be best of 3 matches in some initial structure leading to BO5 quarter/semi-finals and a single BO7 final. All of this is subject to change based on numbers. Once I have a complete picture, I'll post a thread will full details and placements.


But I'm only x rank in Bronze/Silver league..

I hope that this event, alongside future events, will be a positive experience for everyone involved. This is a great chance to play some competitive games with other Overclockers members. The more people we get, the better the experience will be for everyone, so i'd encourage you to sign up no matter what skill level you're at.


I don't want to play, but I'd like to spectate some games

All entered players can spectate any games they want, just let me know a bit in advance that you want to observe so I can make sure you're in before the games start.
If, however, you really don't want to play, but still want to observe some matches, then post your name and identifier in this thread, then let me know a bit in advance as above so I can make sure you're in.


What if I miss matches?

I'll be posting results and uploading replays of all games.

Post your interest, SC2 name, identifier and chosen race in this thread!!


Can I change my race?

You may choose any race you like (inc. random), and change your race at any point before the match placements are published. Afterwards, a race change will be allowed at my discretion.


There's something else I'd like to know!

I think you should have a winners and losers bracket.

Winner of Winners bracket vs Winner of losers bracket to play of for 1st place. Have done this at a proper tournament I went to years ago, everyone has bad days/games.

I'm keen on doing something like this. Can't give a full idea of what the actual structure is though until i have a better idea of numbers :)

I'm thinking of kicking off by next weekend (11th Sept). Depending on numbers/availability it might be split over a couple days.

Definitely open to the idea of steaming/commentating. Would ease lag if many people want to spectate the games.

aww wont be able to make 11th, im at Bestival that weekend :(

I can stream. The problem is I only have 1 monitor so it's hard for me to setup the stream - I need a patient person to tell me how the stream looks and if it's laggy while I fiddle with the settings. :p
 
Sure why not.

I've not even played that many mp games, but it's only a bit of fun. :p

I'm not sure what my identifier is off hand, but my in game name is Mailman and my race is Protoss. I'll get back to you with the identifier.
