Afternoon all.

Just bought myself the Thrustmaster Ferrari F430 from the OCUK store.

I am waiting for F1 2010 to be released but would like a game that is going to tide me over/test the wheel until F1 is out.

Spec me please !

-Grid.
-NFS Carbon and Most Wanted and possibly Underground 2 if you can tolerate it's age.
-Dirt 2.

Another vote for Grid and DiRT2, maybe DiRT as well.

If you can find it, and want to go with the hassle of reading grandprixgames.org then Grand Prix 4 with the 2006/2007 mega patch and mod upgrades - allows for a rather decent 2006 and 2007 season F1 game..

Toca Race Driver 3 is quite good and can be had for next to nothing.

I like the look of live for speed.

How does it work though, do you need to download skins, tracks etc ?

For demo user you have 3 cars and 1 track (which includes 1 road, 1 rally and a car park for messing around with) which are all included in the game so no extra downloads are needed but if you want high resolution textures thats another topic which i will save for another day, demo licenses have unlimited time on them. As for skins you can download skins for each car FBM /XRG/XFG.

Need for Speed Shift gets my vote. Very different to the other need for speed's. Can't believe nobody's recommended it....

Maybe, and just saying that reason its not been recommended is because, erm its a bit of a twitchy game... Handling is a little off, its no good as a sim, but not much good as an arcade racer either...

I tried my best with that game, in the end it tested my rage to the max and I gave up with it... Just couldn't find a happy medium and all my races ended up with me fighting the cars around the track, more luck then skill at times..

As for sims i'd say Live for Speed and iracing are a class above the rest and would definatley reccommend both of them.
