Blueray?

Please xcuse my total ignorance but...

If I fit a Blueray drive to my system will I automatically be able to watch it on my monitor or is there more to it (as I suspect) than that, software aside that is.

System is [email protected] / 8800GTX / Samsung 245B / Win 7 Home Premium

Just ordered an i7 930 setup but not decided on gfx yet and hoping to keep the monitor for a while longer.

Yep, Blu Ray is pretty much 'plug and play' like a DVD drive.

Just make sure that your GPU & monitor are good enough to display the high resolution (Which pretty much all the latest ones can lol).

Which blu-ray drive are you looking at, as some come with the software ready for you watch

Thanks people, I just wasn't sure for some reason.

Went for the Samsung SH-B083L on special this week.

Also received a nice new Asus P6X58D-E and 6gb of Patriot Viper12800C8 to go with the i7 930 bought from MM.

Should be good.

Yeah, you need software installed to actually watch blurays. Windows doesn't have the codec built in, unlike with DVDs.
