How much should I charge in petrol?

Maybe gently remind your mate your skint and that fuel is not the only cost to running a car and seeing as your going out your way to drive them he should be digging a little deeper.

If you offered to drive then don't expect any money from them. If they asked, then you can request money.

Nope, I said I am going to town on Friday, if they want a lift they will have to contribute to petrol as I am skint. Which in my books is fair enough right? Petrol is cheaper than a Taxi.

Does he give you lifts? Does he Drive?

If not I think he is a cheeky ******. Me and my friends all drive and take it in turns giving lifts but always offer a £5 (nobody takes it) but its just polite.

Tell him to get a taxi the cheeky ****.

Doesn't drive.. can't afford to. So nope, he didn't offer. His reply was..

"Most im paying is three quid which is half way. Otherwise im not coming out"

Feel like saying - "Dont ******* come out then

I'd charge £0, and rotate who does the driving each time you go out.

Charging them isn't exactly "friendly".

If they're taking the micky by robbing lifts then ignoring you all evening

then fair enough, but it's not worth falling out over.

Just use the taxi line then. If he thinks he can get a taxi at that price then off he goes then lol. I dont think you could get a bus from less then 3 quid for 20 odd miles these days and who honestly wants to drive on a buses on a night out there and back.

They are your friends, drink something else, forget about the petrol and have a good night. If they insist on giving you money then that's a bonus, but charging them a set amount seems strange.

Robbie, I am out of work at the moment and I hardly have any money at all (one of the reasons why I also on soft drinks aswell as bodybuilding) - I am in no means 'scrounging' I am merely trying to be fair. If I was earning money, I wouldn't give a damn who joined me and I also wouldn't give a damn about petrol because I could afford it myself. I'd appreciate not being called a pikie next time - cheers.

Christ, people can be selfish. They should know you have no job and money is tight and should offer anyway.

I'm not worried about spending money on petrol, I just don't have the extra money to spend petrol on mates at the moment (would be nice if I did). I was only offering the chance of a lift if they wanted it - as it'd be cheaper than a taxi for sure.
