Ok so a quick update!

I spoke to the store I bought the 460 from again today after seeing the Top edition on the site for £200 and managed to get the Top edition reserved for me to go in and swap over tomorrow at no extra cost :D

Top stuff :D

900+ MHz core tomorrow then :p

Thats if the top edition overclocks as well as the one you have. You might find the top edition is already maxed out...

I don't want to think such negative thoughts.

*slaps*

Anyway, that's unlikely given the positive rep in the overclocking abilities of these cards :P

Emmm... is it only me that's noticed ... but the 460 GTX Cyclone appears to have had a fair bump up in price! Just as I was thinking about getting one.

Sure it was around the £182 mark a few weeks back, now at £211 :(. Lets hope things change, did plan on picking one up in a month or two. They can be had elsewhere for the £180 mark at the moment, would prefer to go to OcUK though.

I've been thinking about upgrading my 275 GTX but I'm right in saying that aside from the 460 offering DirectX 11 and offering less power / less heat, a single 460 is actually slower than my 275? The only single card upgrade really, would be a 5870 or a 470?

When OC'd, my 460 is surpassing a standard 470 without the heat and noise.

And I think pretty much every 1Gb 470 is capable of reaching 850/1700/4000-4200 with a few extra volts.

Well I got a couple of Antec spot fans which seem to knock 10c off my top card temps but they appear to be the straw that's breaking the camel's back power wise. The PC has become unstable and keeps locking up when under light to heavy use.
Soooo it's back to 1 card until I get a more powerful PSU.

The spot fans are crap by the way. They droop, rattle and don't bend well at all.

Yeah I knew I was pushing it... coped well untill the extra fans. lol tried switching off the LED's to squeeze a bit more power out of it.
Oh well... was planning on getting a new PSU anyway for my old PC.

The Corsair 850w should do the trick... or should I go nuts and get a 1000w?

£100 is max you need tbh, Antec TruePower New Modular 750W or Akasa Freedom Power 750W will do you more than fine.

So I have installed the 460 Top just now:

Microstutter has taken the shine of the 460s. You get high fps but what good is that when it feels like half... Won't be going sli again until AMD/Nvidia fix the problem and how can they fix it if they don't acknowledge it. Oh well 6870 here I come.

They know about it, but there isn't a fix, so for them it will be a PR nightmare to even acknowledge it.
I think AMD was planning to avoid solve this issue with side port on the 4870x2 but was never implemented due to the power consumption and heat of the 4870x2.
When Cypress came out, one of Amd's engineers did hint on the fact that we shouldn't be surprised if the next gen after Cypress had side port fully implemented.
This may or may not happen now though as Amd may be trying to save as much die space as possible due to being stuck on 40nm.

Pretty damn decent. Almost makes the MSI HAWK edition look redundant before its released, when there are already cards out there that can hit 900MHz+ As the only couple of reviews of this card I've seen, it has "only" hit around 950MHz.

Is that with the fan on auto. If so, what speed is it hitting and what's the noise level like?
