Does anyone have one? The cheapest ones I've seen are going for about £200, and even though I really can't afford it I'm hugely tempted by them! :D

I know it's probably gonna suck at cleaning, because I have a lot of clutter in my flat (furniture, junk littering the floor, cables criss-crossing the place, you know, all the stuff that a humble little robot vacuum will probably be bad at navigating around), but I nevertheless find the notion of having a pet that cleans up after you rather than the other way round hugely amusing, plus when I was a kid we used to get those lame 1950s cartoons on tv where everyone in the year 2000 had robot vacuums and flying cars so I feel entitled to one! :p

I want one too, they can clean under my bed!! how else am I going to get in those hard to reach places?

Robot house-workers! We're living in the future!

I really, really want one but can't justify the price tag yet.

Do you find with one of these that you still have to go around with a 'normal' vacuum to do the bits it missed? I'm a little bit tempted to replace my human cleaner with one of these, it should be more reliable.

A good mate of mine has one, a Roomba. Though he has a massive open plan house with everything on the same level, and him and his wife are very tidy and have very little clutter around the place. Apparently it works very well, he was on about buying one that uses water and cleans the kitchen floor/hard surfaces etc too.

:D Haha. I can imagine the conversation with your cleaner, telliing him/her that you've replaced them with a robot.

What would be really cool is if it dealt with stairs like a Dalek. I guess if you live in a house you just buy one per floor or transplant it occasionally.

Haha, classy

but still, it would take all of 2 mins to wipe up that floor with a long brush. But then again, if it does it every night, even though it takes longer, you wouldn't need to do it. I'm sure the price tag will come down eventually.

ooh you saying there's one that basically MOPS the floor as well as vacuums?? Count me SOLD! Any idea what one might set you back?

Just get the RobotWife model.
But if y7ou have a robot vacuum you could replace your wife with a sexbot instead! :D

Haven't got one, but had a play with a neighbor's when we were looking after her cats. It actually worked pretty well - although she does have hardwood/tile floors so it scooted around quite happily. Also love the way it goes back to its base when its finished :) Worth the money? Hmmm, I'd say if you had a robot vacuum friendly house then sure. Small place with lots of furniture it can't get under or around.....probably not.
