Hi Guys,

Just a quick question, my 5870 unfortunately kicked the bucket and OCUK were very timely in theyre testing and realising this. I got an email on the 1st of this month saying it was sent to the manufacturer for sorting, any one with experience able to tell me how long roughly I'll be waiting for Sapphire to get me one back? Im getting a bit tetchy using the laptop all this time and I'd quite like my rig back :)

Cheers guys

OCUK received my faulty Sapphire on the 23rd July. Sent to Sapphire on the 3rd August. Still have not received a repaired or new one back. OcUK told me Sapphire takes 30 days to turn around cards. I queried it last week and was told they are expecting a big shipment from Sapphire in the next week or two.

So to answer your question, I'd expect your RMA to take 30 to 50 days.

They have a duty for a turn around of 28 days usually but you would have to check the site. I would expect it to take 10 working days (ie 2 weeks) atleast.

I RMA'd mine through OCUK so can't check their site. Legally the place you bought the item from has to offer repair or replacement within a reasonable period of time, and if it's a repair, the repair has to be permanent. 30 days or so is probably reasonable I'd say.

OCUK recieved my RMA 5870 on the 14th of august and still no sign on whats going on with it....

But after this week will be over the 28 days. So we will see how it goes from there.

Sapphire RMA are based in Hungary so takes a few days getting over to them and same coming back, was when I had to do an RMA direct to them. Still took a couple of weeks in hand with them as well so I would say upto a month too

Hearing this im actually really disappointed, Ive never had to wait that long for any manufacturer to turn around any RMA, usually from when ive sent the thing out ive got a new one sat with me within 2 weeks. Surely it should be unacceptable for them to leave you computerless for such a long period of time.

Yep its why I had to get a 5770 to carry me over.

Useful to know. Is it only XFX that has a UK RMA centre?

I had a problem with my Sapphire 5870 which I sent to back to Overclockers they found it was faulty on the same day they received the card back from me. When they sent it to Sapphire it took them a few days to determine that it was also faulty then I had to wait for them to send me a replacement. After a couple of weeks I asked Overclockers if they could simply refund me the value of the replacement card which i was waiting for. They did and I bought another card. So this may also be an option if you are awaiting a replacement from the supplier.

I think I may give OCUK a call and see what they say, im happy to wait a little but I really cant wait a month.

Thanks very much for the help guys.

Not much joy unfortunately, basically said once its been 28days then they can think about doing something different, omega let me know how your conversation turns out.

they did the same for me over a duff XFX PSU after a "reasonable time" had passed they sent me a replacement PSU from stock.

quite shocking how these companies take the proverbial with there RMA procedures.

Only ones i have found to be half decent are Corsair, OCZ (holland), Antec and Asus. Which is much shorter than my list of bad experiences. EVGA, Gigabyte, XFX, Crucial, BFG,Club-3d, HIS the list goes on.

I currently have a sapphire card hope nothing happens to it /sigh
