Remember my Dad watching this when it first came out, and a couple of my mates said it was on 4oD last night, so I've started to watch it.

Really shouldn't have been cancelled, so so funny! :D :D

As I recall it was banned because of the pedophilia episode

...which was damn funny!

Yes, a load of important people and celebrities getting wound up about something they hadn't actually watched. That was a terrible shame.

I remember watching that back in 2001 and almost dying with laughter... only for it to get torn to shreds the day after in the press.

I think it was during the first series morris tried to put 'Grade is a ****' subliminally into the a frame of the one of the episodes. Grade was the head of channel 4 at the time and said he'd never work for channel 4 again. He left and morris got another crack at brass eye, thus the paedo special.

There is some cracking audio stuff here http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/ from 1990 onwards when he used to the music show and other things.

I used have it all downloaded years ago.. the music show, on the hour, no known cure and why bother? are brilliant although there doesn't seem to be as many episodes up as there used to be so grab what you can.

Why can we no longer think of the British Isles without the word "paedoph" in front of them?

I'm not sure it was cancelled, or banned as much as Morris went on to do different things. He's only really done one series of anything (Day Today, Nathan Barley, Brass Eye). I'd really recommend The Day Today and Time Trumpet if you like Brass Eye - Time Trumpet isn't Morris, but it's similar humour, and very clever

Did he not get the sack early in his career for reading the news out after breathing helium? I think it was at a local radio station.

I remember recording an episode of Blue Jam off radio one (back in the days of audio tapes) as it was on in the middle of the night. It certainly was very surreal!

He was only in the first series of The IT Crowd too.

PK!
