"Sony has confirmed that PS3 exclusive The Last Guardian will be shown at this year's Tokyo Game Show, which conveniently gets under way next week.

Creator Fumito Ueda will present the game to media and then field questions. That session takes place on Thursday, 16th September at 3pm Japan time (7am UK time)."

Looking forward to seeing this, also Ico HD ?

I'm hoping he makes an ICO/SotC announcement more. When they're out in HD, then I'll start getting excited about the Last Guardian. :)

I could be talking out of my backside but, to me, that looks like a high res render of Ico (as opposed to the original PS2, low res image) which is a good sign. On a screen that huge Ico would be aliased to hell and back but it looks pretty smooth. A good sign of this remastered released that keeps being hinted at.

SotC would be so utterly beautiful in 1080p.

Not really, it's only a PS2 game. If they can do something like Gran Turismo 5 or Wipeout HD at 1080p 60fps, then a PS2 game shouldn't be a problem.

Hehe, KNiVES, you love arguing with me.

I thought along those lines but why then did they not do God of War I + II at 1080p? They are PS2 games but Sony redid them at 720p60. Shadow of the Colossus taxes the framerate of the PS2 considerably.

These recent videos about ico/sotc are pretty good, part 4 still to come.

Spoilers if you haven't finished them.

I actually shouted "**** yeah!!" out loud when I read this thread title... not sure why I got so excited :D but I'm fairly sure this game is going to supersede Zelda OOT as my GOAT game - let's hope I'm right!

Im really hoping they bring out a hd version of ico/sotc because my ps2 died before they came out, I can't even watch those videos posted above because of spoilers.

Yup, I never played Ico and SOTC, and don't really want to pay to get a PS2 (and the extra money to get those two "rare") games now. I would actually pay £30 to £40 for each of them though if they were redone in HD.

You'd buy an entire console, justified on a re-release of a game merely put in a slightly higher resolution and say it's justified? I could understand if you wanted last guardian and said that justified it but seriously?

S-e-r-i-o-u-s-l-y yes.

Look at comparison pics between the original PS2 God of War games and the PS3 'God of War Collection', there is a very large difference in image quality, especially when you consider it being viewed on an LCD screen as opposed to a CRT, and also I don't think anyone would argue against the fact the SotC seriously needed a boost in the FPS department.
