OcUK, you can start laughing at me

HAHA midget!

nah in all seriousness your growing isn't over i used to be the same height as you at 16 but by the time i had finished sixth form i was 5'9".

Are you a fussy eater? People that I know who are short all seem to be really fussy eaters. To the point where they either won't eat if there is no safe food around or they will substitute a meal with 3 bags of crisps. This leads me to believe that a child who is turning food away a lot of the time, isn't going to grow as much as they could. Which makes sense. Also people ~200 years were a fair bit shorter than people today. Evolution doesn't happen that fast, it's down to diet.

I was a fussy eater, but for the last couple of years, I've been eating a lot better.

Short people can go on to live full and successful life's. There hight is not a hindrance , just look at Prince (as in music artist) or even Tom Cruise (Edit),both doing well and completely sane and on the short side.

But it's odd. Height on paper is a worse discriminator than race or gender have ever been. Sounds unbelievable but if think about it..

That is me and I'm only 5' 6"

What do you mean by 'on paper'
Do you literally mean, that when assessing someone without meeting them, there is a height in their profile, then they're at a disadvantage?

Sorry that wasn't the clearest way of putting across what I was trying to say. I meant 'on paper' in the sense that more people have probably been disadvantaged by being small, than being of a particular race or gender in terms of those that get to the very top.

Quick google suggests this :

http://marketplace.publicradio.org/display/web/2009/06/10/pm_tall_q/

That's the only link I could find, I haven't read too much into it in all honesty, as said above it does sound a bit crack pot-esq.

Edit 2 - http://www.futurepundit.com/archives/001719.html - that "cites" a University of Florida paper.

I did a height check today. And I'm exactly the same height as I was 3 months ago. That's right, I've stopped growing. I'm 16 years old and I've stopped growing. I now stand at 5 feet and 4.25 inches tall :p

The worst part is that two of my friends at school were the same height as me when they first came to the school. Ie: they were 5'4 at 11 years old.

I'm not that concerned about my height to be honest. I see the funny side, and there's also plenty of girls within reach ;)

Oh and before any of you lot say it, here's the obligatory:

Go on, take your shots :D

When I was your age (many many years ago) I shot up to 6'3 whilst all my mates was slowing growing and hanging around 5'5. Didn't half look weird. As if I was some perv hanging with young kiddies. Luckily I stopped growing and my mates caught up. Sort of.
