Is a CAT D 911 a really bad idea?

The one in our new flat was just over £20k, and that was being relatively sensible..
If you wanted to go crazy, you could easily go over £40k, and that's not even going to Poggenpohl, etc.

£40k buys a lot of sex without whinging, I'd rather that than £40k on a kitchen to keep the wife happy :p

Cheap kitchens are crap though. Most mid-range ones look and feel cheap, and that's without second-rate appliances.

We had a deal with poggenpohl, we agreed to let them show our kitchen 4 times in a year for a decent discount, then said it was inconvenient till they gave up :)

You obviously have yet to realise the value of a happy and quiet wife :)

I have the perfect wife tbh, she is happy and never nags. I also have a bit of a shabby kitchen which I shall be renovating soon but I won't be buying stupid designer stuff. I opened a parcel recently and it was a shock absorber for my bike. Unfortunately as I opened the box it fell out and took a huge chunk out of the worktop :o

its uneconomical to bodyshops and workshops to do with OE parts and workshop labour, but someone else can take the time and get a donor etc as a basic solution.

Personally, as long as the rails are straight I'd be happy to bring it back to new. I know lads that do it, they drive some of them and sell the others. Good business in it I see for them at least.

£30k car or whatever? Hmmm, i don't think I'd be passing the money for one personally. Do it myself maybe but I certainly cba. But, saying that he done a 2008 iirc 530 that was pulled out a river that got overhauled, and its absolutely stunning.

wowzers. imagine the level of damage to cat d a one year old porsche.

id place a small bet on the seller saying "they write off everything now, innit"

Forget the Porsche a min, £40k on a kitchen in a flat?!
I know it's a huge flat, but what has she got planned in there? Lol

Its quite easy and we are not going crazy. Its easy to spend a Lot more.

For example we saw a really nice Zubzero fridge freezer, I thought about it until I saw the price tag, 10k.

poggenpohl kitchens for the win :)

I have always wanted a Pgg kitchen however after giving it a lot of thought I think we will go with siematic.

Appliances are going to be Miele.

Yep this is true, and when we come to sell it I think a good kitchen and bathroom will really help.

I have decided to pass on the car, thanks for all the input. I think I would have bought it was not for the comments by Mark and Housey

As with all cars it depends what the damage was, and if it was repaired properly.

If it is truly straight and strong, which means panel replacement not repair, then a Cat D 911 is a way to buy one cheaper and sell it cheaper, no gains to be made other than being able to buy one.
