It uninstalls all the old driver files, and then installs the new driver, even says so in the release notes.

Not that you need to do that anyways just install over the top.

i always uninstall drivers use drier sweeper and clear the drivers.

this situation has existed in all the recent nvidia drivers this was a clean (read brand new hdd) install starting with the 256.96 drivers and it had the same issue with 50 and 60 hz in 1080p mode via hdmi.

my games seem to leave a 3cm border at each side, cant figure it out (gtx 470)

Every other boot (approx) the welcome screen would freeze with artifacts (GTX 470 here). Also in the CP if I adjusted the gamma slider the colours would go weird and I'd have to log on/off to get things back to normal. Reverted back to 258.96 for now ...

Yeah that used to kind of annoy me too when i used to use vista x64 and ati graphics cards.

The new installer is nice, it's similar to Catalyst the way you can select what item you like except without the obvious bugs like the buttons being halfway underneath the start bar.

Everything is running really smoothly for me, with one exception, GTA 4! They seemed to have fixed the shadow bug (slickreing with SLI), but the framerate seems to be a lot lower that it was previously.

Otherwise very good with all my other games running really well and smooth!

Like with the leaked 260's from last week performance is much worse with these compared to the 259 releases for me.

Mafia 2 framerate is less consistant and juddery

rFactor is upto 30fps less at times.
