Anyone work for Fujitsu IT Services?

Hah. I worked on the bmi contract as well. I left because I couldn't live on the complete joke of a wage. Well below the market rate! G1BB0. Not Glen you know is it?

There are a couple of areas that you can get away with not paying at all for, but you'd need to know the area for me to describe it to you, and it wouldn't work if you're afraid of a bit of walking.

Do you have onsite parking at the moment? Have you been offered a relocation package?

Git.

Rishworth St. is £5 per day:(

You can probably find an out of town centre street that would give you a 10 min walk in, some of the side streets on barnsley/donny road dont need permits (i used to live in Woodcock street which wasnt too far away and didnt need a permit).

Fujitsu is pretty much the same as other outsourcing organisations, a lot of people dont like working there and a lot do. If you put the work/effort in you can progress. A mate of mine who started with me on the Epson desk in Wakey 10yrs ago doing first line support is now Head of Service Desk Operations.

Well I accepted, but have since been told that they want me to come back to the interview site to look at my passport.

Not amused, so it then opens the question of what else can't be done properly! So I'm on the verge of saying forget it.

When I've had interviews in the past it's normally asked at interview. The response I've had is that they forgot to ask....

Humans make mistakes. It's a pretty simple error that shouldn't be made, but there's always a chance of that when it's a human process.

Well I'm still going ahead, but the raising of the contract will be delayed by about 10 days. So I reckon it'll be about 6/8 weeks before I'll be leaving my current place.

Still a bit concerned about going from a 16 mile round commute to a 90 mile daily commute.

I went from an 18 mile round trip to what is now a 148 mile round trip and if I wasn't being paid significantly more, it would annoy me greatly both in terms of time but also the cost of commuting is now pretty massive.

Don't let travel stand in the way of a job mate - I went from working locally to a 110 mile daily commute. The job is great - I enjoy it and i'm paid for the travel so at this moment I do not have many complaints. You learn to deal with it - I use the time to listen to podcasts that I ordinarily wouldn't get the time to do in the house - from educational to generic talk shows.

In actual fact my 2 mile commute could take 30 minutes, I can do my 55 mile drive in less than an hour if conditions allow! :)

I also found that I got used to a commute over the M62 to the wrong side of the hills. Used to take around 1.5 hours, but I got a good radio show on the morning and to listen to a full album on the return. I wouldn't usually have time for either.

I used my 140mile commute to listen to spanish lessons on CD, worked ok as i can just about understand spanish conversation if i get them to slow down a bit! :)

Ignore Gilly, he's a monkey.

CapGemini is the way forward ;)

I worked for Cap for 5 years in Bristol (Aztec) and Client sites across the South-west.

apart from working @ Virgin mobile (a contract CG lost) the rest was a dire experience.

Depends where you're talking about. Generally comparing myself with my peers at my current place of work £40k would be low. I'm earning about the same as most of the team and I'm on just over £64k. I would consider anything about £80k to be high.

what sector and type of software do you do?
