os transfer to ssd

im looking at getting an ssd.i currently have a hitachi 320gb,i need to transfer my os to the ssd how is that done?i hav windows 7 os, 64bit

I'd be tempted to reinstall a fresh copy of windows. Yes its a pita but if youve had your current setup for a while i suspect theres a lot of unused files etc slowing it all down. You will still be able to access all your old files from your 320GB drive, so loosing your data isnt an issue.
