Best Thermal Paste

Hey guys,

I have Artic Silver 5 and Antec Formula 5 thermal pastes both of which seem to be silver based compounds, out of these which is best?

And would the likes of MX-3 be worth using instead?

Yeah I just found some old chillfactor 1 bundled with a hr05 , worth keeping as I have as5 and ID diamond already??

It seems all these review sites get completely different results as Benchmarkreviews 80-way Thermal paste Test as posted by koooowweeee above found that the best of the 80 pastes was Shin-Etsu MicroSi G751 followed in second place by Arctic Silver 5 once cured.

I found chillfactor III the best paste than MX-3 on my noctua D14 keep my 4.20ghz at between 67C & 70C below temperature!

Just wonder what it compare to MX3 with a new MX4 in my Noctua D14 if temperature rise above 70C then I will blame Rich haha

I am not surprised that all these review sites give different results as some use a thermal diode between the IHS and the heatsink base so the heatsink is now no longer flast against the IHS and is slightly lifted one end and some use the onboard Thermal Diode and as we all know it only takes a draft to blow past the board and you will get different readings.

Used both MX-2 & MX-3 .... so another vote for MX-3
