Joined the college choir today and it's surprisingly good! I'm musical by nature so not too difficult to get into but it's a change from the usual DnB, Metal and Rock I listen too and play. And it's nice to finally play with some skilled people up for playing music rather than messing about in the music room at school haha. Anyone else sung in one before?

Ok. Go ahead! Give me the abuse and shouts of "GAY!" I deserve for even starting this thread! :D

I sang at the Albert Hall when I was in primary school, that was quite a while ago now though. Enjoy it!
 
go for it mate, the more musical styles you experience the more you have to draw on when you create your own music. as an example, a mate of mine is a bass player and was obsessed by all the metallica, iron maiden etc stuff, rock and metal basically, anyway he moved to Manchester and moved next door to a salsa band (who were incidentally awesome - the girl singer has since been signed and was recently on BBC4 in the Nick Drake tribute) and it opened his eyes to different styles and genres of music. improved his writing no end.

keeping an open mind is never bad. saying that choirs are pretty gay :D
 
Was in a choir from year 7 to 9, until my voice broke. Sang at the Albert Hall, Llangollen and the Welsh Eisteddfods.

At that age going to all these far-away places was fantastic.

Ok sure, I did for the babes. There's some fine chicks in the choir too :p

I'm bass/tenor btw so none of that high pitched crap for me. And the choir is all about Jesus either and it's a surprisingly wide range of music we are going to sing.
 
Good for you. I was in several choirs through school, though I stopped at university. I'm not religious in the slightest, but one of the best things to come out of God is the inspiration for some fantastic music.

I still love singing, though, be it rock, jazz, folk or whatever.
 
i was in the school choir, did all the llangollen crap too,then one day i grew up and dicovered K-cider, Thunderbird and girls.

Glee really has brainwashed people.
