So seven (you missed Barcelona Rotty, I'm disappointed in you!) games, out of thirty (if you include the next two) altogether. That's a good, what, 85% or more that have been hosted in capital countries. Also considering that the USA, Canada and Australia are significantly bigger countries than Britain, I think my point gets to stand.![]()
You do realise that a large majority of ALL the modern Olympic games have been based in the capital city of a country, don't you?
Don't let that affect the chip on your shoulder though.
apart from Antwerp, Montreal , Los Angeles ( twice ) , St Louis and Melbourne
and that's just the summer ones
ok the majority still have been but a large amount have not![]()
Arf, why did my brain tell me 6 is 10% of 30 when I was writing that.23 out of 30 = 85%
are you in the Olympic Maths event ?![]()
Ok, you know what? My initial stat was flawed, I'll admit. But take ONLY countries of a similar size as the UK, and what do you get? Antwerp, Munich and Barcelona. Munich is kind of a special case really, since I doubt Berlin was really possible in the middle of the cold war was it, and Bonn's a relatively tiny place. Barcelona is a city with near equal stature to Madrid, so I'd say that's fairly understandable, wouldn't you?Sydney, Barcelona, Munich, Atlanta, Rio de Janeiro 2016.
Thats another 4, so not really ALL is it
So dont try and get smart with me
I don't like sport and I certainly don't like paying for itI don't get all these moaners
Much rather have the football world cup here. Wouldn't cost half as much with all the stadia already here, maybe even make money out of it with all the franchising.
Its not like England isn't knownI'm surprised as to how many people don't support them ,I wonder why something that brings recognition to your country could be classified as bad?
Cost and lack of interest. And since when does the UK need recognition?I wonder why something that brings recognition to your country could be classified as bad?
