Finishing Touches

I am currently just in the process of putting the finishing touches to my new i7 Rig the Spec of which is:

• Intel Core i7 920
• Corsair H50-1
• Gigabyte EX58-UD5
• 6GB PC-12800 Corsair C7
• Crucial C300 256 Gb + Highpoint Rocket 620
• Zotac GTX 280 1024 MB
• AsusXonar DX
• Corsair HX750W
• Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit

How much of an upgrade would it be to switch the GTX 280 for a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 OC 1024MB?

So far from what I can make out it would be quieter, use less power and add DX11 support to the system.

Also does it still vent the hot air out the back of the case like the cooler on my GTX 280?

Depends on the cooler, reference ones do, non-reference usually don't and push the air both ways.

I dislike your system as it's not a good value for money but let's not be harsh on that

GeForce 280 is roughly an equivalent to 275 performance-wise. Noise/temps/power would be more like 285.

I actually meant the rest of the build. GTX 280 is probably a leftover from a previous setup, they're hardly available to grab in retail
