Test Drive Unlimited 2 BETA

Yay ^.^

My download using the TDU2 download took around 5-6 hours doing on average 150-200kb a second with odd 500kb jumps. I think the biggest problem with it is that it eats your upload as its peer to peer which in turn kills your download speed :p
 
I can't believe they haven't thought this out in uploading it to multiple sites for people to download off.

keys can be had if you sign up for the beta - i signed up like 4 months ago im sure its still open?
 
Took 5 hours to download so couldnt play it last night, look forward to playing it tonight, the game checks for online servers when its launched so i'll just launch it and see what happens as it found servers last night.

Cant wait to get home home and play it, I wish moaners wouldnt moan so much, its free I dont understand some people at all
 
I'm not sure if I'm breaking the NDA by saying this, but the client download software is much akin to Blizzards... it's a p2p app, once you have downloaded the game, restart/keep the download manager running and it will seed.
Unfortunately Atari/Eden completely fail to mention this anywhere, hence the terrible download rates as the world and it's dog are leeching from a few seeders and the Atari headend.
 
No one wants to be seeding though, even if they knew.

I signed up for the beta ages ago and never got a key, so unfair! I probs played TDU more than anyone on here!
 
got into the beta and played it yesterday and im so disappointed :(

well i guess its only a beta and hopefully it will improve

hard to put my finger on what's wrong it just "feels" crap

This isn't a playability test, it's a BETA test, you are meant to be busy looking for bugs, exploits and generally stressing both the client and the server.

If you want to check out playability then wait for the demo. :)

I got one from megaupload and it didnt so not sure if the updated client has been uploaded or if you are forced to use the downloader.

I haven't been able to play much yet but I've enjoyed my time. Its what you would expect from a TDU game which is kind of good and kind of bad as a good number or years have passed since then. But they still have 5 months or so to keep adding to the game.

I'm glad they are doing the test now as they will get the feedback in time to fix some off the issues :)
 
Finally downloaded and installed, gonna give this a whirl in 20mins :)

If you can get it from RS, make sure its 3.5gb, as that's the one from the downloader.

Just checked, servers are definitely up, but i'm getting an invalid product key error?

Is anyone else in right now?
