prtty sure itll ask you to connect to the net or go into offline mode when teh pc is turned on
May be obvious to most of you but meh im not sure
Moving into my new house and havent got the net set up yet. Can I play steam games I have already downloaded offlline or do you need to be connected to the net?

Yes, if you have already been connected with those games they should be fine in offline mode.

As Arknor says, make sure you've enabled offline mode whilst online before you move out.
To be safe with steam being fernickety, run every game you want to play the last time you'll be online then right click on the game> properties and set updates to 'do not automatically update' restart in offline mode and check its all working. Annoying but it can help prevent steam throwing a hissy fit from ninja updates.
when i lost my connection, i tried to use steam and it would try to connect and update itself everytime and had to wait awhile for it to time out, althou eventually it came up with the option to go into offline mode, which worked.
but if you actually set offline mode from the menu, then it'll always be in offline mode when ever u open steam until u select online again, so it'll be much quicker to load

Should be fine, I can normally play games when the net goes out fine.
Had a problem the other day though, shut down steam and unbeknown to me there was a pending update that needed to check if it was finished.
Started it up next time when the net was out, and pow, wouldn't start in off-line mode at all, and would just time out trying to connect.
In the end I connected to the net through my phone to download the 0.5mb it needed to.
Make sure everything works whilst you still have the internet!
