Hi Guys,

Not been on here is a long time, but I have a quick question about the soon to be released Formula 1 2010 game by Codemasters.

Will my current setup be able to run this game at a resonable resolution and frame rate?

  • Windows XP
  • Motherboard= Asus P5W DH
  • Processor= Intel Core2 6400 2.13Ghz
  • Ram= 2 Gig
  • Graphics= Radeon X1900 512mb R580 chipset
  • Monitor = 22" 1680 x 1050

Hopefully that is all the info you need, if I have missed anything out then please let me know and I shall answer.

Cheers

Matt :)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the quick comments, what would you say would be the best thing to alter to get a decent performance out of what I've got. I'm thinking graphics card, what would you recommend, don't really want to spend too much more than £120:confused:

A new video card along with a couple of GB of extra ram, then overclock that CPU!

I had a P5WDH deluxe and it happily clocked my P4 3.00GHz to 4GHz+, what they're like with core 2s though I've no idea?

OC your CPU to 3.0 + at least, then get something like a GTX460

F2010 will if prev versions of the game are anything to go by, be a pretty demanding game, if it follows the trend of it's forebears anything less than a modern card and fast clocked CPU will struggle IMO

You may be right, i assumed this was a follow on from either EA's efforts or the GP1,2,3,4 series by Geoff Crammond, all of which had pretty high system requirements

Still of the F1 games released on the PC that i played, they all needed a decent system
to run well

No this is a codemasters game running the evo engine, nothing to do with Geoff Crammond or EA.

From what I've read though it looks as though you're correct in so much as it will require a fairly good system to run @ 1080p with all the eye candies on.

33fps @ 1680x1050 on a gtx 260 and a core i7@ 4GHz

Coupe where did you see that???? so wish i'd gone for the P.O.V 465 now!!
OP u will need to O/C your cpu, and just see what its like, but i'm guessing you are gonna need to replace that x1900, One of the two suggested earlier will see you right :-)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your help, I just realised that I need to check out my power supply to see if that will handle a new graphics card.

Apart from taking the PC apart is there any way of finding out the spec on it. I tried Sandra, but couldn't see anything about power supply

Cheers

Matt

Just found the details of my power supply.

It is a Tagan EasyCon 580w
TG580-U15
And I have it in combined mode

Will this be able to run any half decent graphics cards?

Many thanks

Matt:)
