***Official Halo Reach Thread***

I got both a capture card and bungie pro. I like using bungie pro whenever im lazy and/or if i wanna show my clips off to the bungie community. Also for every month that passes whilst being a bungie member you get a free 5 minutes of rendering time.

Has anyone seen the Halo Reach 'stands out from the crowd' article on the BBC. They forgot to significantly mask the word **** and queer from the intro song (Sid Vicious - My Way) :o

Yes you have to pay. Once you pay you get render minutes, 1 render minute is equivalent to 1 minute of recording. However if you wish to capture in 720p then it costs a bit more. You can also buy more minutes from amazon.com but i think you need bungie pro first.

If your not bothered for this then just buy a capture card.

lul wut?

I believe what he is pointing out is that if you use the Bungie Pro service, which has a subscription fee, you can render out your replays as movies that you can keep or uploaded to YouTube or whatever. I guess they charge extra for HD res movies.

I don't really see why anyone would actually want to do this, aside from the people who make films using a game engine or whatever.

On another note, I've been playing the Team Arena mode again each day so that I get into the ranked division thing. However, almost every game there is at least one person who quits out. I think rather than a time penalty for quitting, with matched games like Arena there should be some kind of penalty against your rank for quitting.

I really want to know what rules this game follows because I swear they have different rules for me and a different set for everyone else :o I betrayed ONE person by accident, he runs into a group of people that I had already thrown a grenade at and I'm instantly kicked, yet I get run over by a Wraith on purpose and the driver gets away with it  I know for a fact it was on purpose because he moved it to the side to line me up and then boosted to run me over when there was nobody else around.
It's completely retarded, I've probably betrayed 5 or 6 people since the game came out and each time they've kicked me, yet I've been betrayed just as many times and I've got the option to kick somebody only once, but I didn't because it was someone I was playing with.

It's ruining the game for me at the moment because accidents do happen, especially when all people do is sprint towards someone to melee them (Bevy... :p).

Bungie are looking it to it but they mention its done on previous game behaviours including team damage not just kills. So if you have taken a few shields down on your teammates and you kill one later on then that adds to your betrayal streak in a way.

Bungie said:
We’re seeing reports of players being booted for betrayals after just one measly stinkin’ team kill. Yup, it actually can and will happen, but as always, it’s a bit more nuanced than it appears to be on first glance. Currently Halo: Reach is using a betrayal system similar to the one employed by Halo 2, where players accumulate strikes against their betrayal count not just for straight up kills, but also for doing non-fatal damage to their teammates.

Of course, none of that is communicated very well in game, so it’s no surprise that you’re freaking out about it. Even internally, we’ve already talked about tweaks to the current system and we’re looking into deploying a solution. Don’t worry; it’s something we can configure without a major update, so you can expect to hear back from us soon about some modified betrayal booting conditions. Maybe December. (Yes, that's a joke.)

Well thats just great, I'm being punished for dicking around with mates in objective games that happened 3 years ago :) The only thing they should take into account is how many times you've been booted for betrayals, not whether you smacked a mate in the back at the start of the game.

A simple system would be betray 2 people and then they get the option to kick you, or maybe they should just turn team damage off because it's obvious they don't want you hurting each other

I had some ***** message me on xbox live with spoilers about how the game ends and what happens to Nobel team. I glanced the first line by accident but then closed the message and reported to xbox live as a complaint.

Since I started playing Halo again I've set it back to friends only so I don't have to mute all the little gits and the added bonus is I no longer get messages asking whether I want to play a no scope, quick scope game or if I want 10th prestiege :p

Something i always find with halo games in the single player is that when
there is a shoot out i never really feel involved in the combat.
also when you kill someone i dont get the feeling "yeh your dead"
so far it all feels very superficial and a chore to play.
i'm also the only person on earth who doesnt feel drawn into the great story (yawn). i'll be honest i only bought the game coz im starved for games. so far i feel i've just chucked £36 up the swanny. yeh baby !!!

I've seen it all now, people rage quitting firefight match making... you have infinite lives and it doesn't matter how many times you die because you always win no matter what anyway.

I will add you as a friend if you spam that in the mw2 thread lol

edit: Thats a lie but i will laugh quite a bit :P

As good as MW2 is, COD MW1 will always be king. They tried to do too much with MW2. Not to say that MW1 is perfect, hell no, but everything felt natural, MW2 is perk crazy and is a far worse game because of it. Hope they tone down the perks for Black Ops.

There's too much variation in game types imo, especially since every game you're forced to use different equipment, am I alone in thinking it would be nice just to have some consistent slayer action?

Also, why on earth have they not fixed people quitting pre-game? How hard can it be to see that half the team have quit and to re-balance the team before the game starts!?

:p

My melee stats are awesome lol. Is halo wars any good im thinking about getting the set and actually paying attention to the story.
