Joe’s Adventures continues the prodigious crime drama of Mafia II through the eyes of Joe Barbaro, Vito Scaletta’s best friend, during the time that Vito spends in prison. The game add-on extends the original narrative of Mafia II by combining a dramatic storyline with intense arcade-style gameplay that opens up several new areas in Empire Bay and items for players to get their hands dirty with.

Opinions? My first impression is that it seems like this was intentionally removed before release only to be added in as 'dlc'...

Another DLC already, well I won't be buying it anyway :P

DLCs are the biggest rip off ever.

Yes agree 100%...I was reluctant to buy Vendetta but after loosing interest after a short amount to time I won't bother with any more.

PS I think they are going to keep that points system

Didn't buy vendetta won't be buying this one either... the game feels like they purposely took stuff out to add later as "DLC", that and the fact they seem to have this attitude that your "stealing" from them if you dare enjoy the game more than just the cut and dried storyline. Left me with a very sour taste in my mouth won't be buying another 2k game again.

Bought Mafia 2 and bought the first dlc. Jimmys ****take or whatever. Loved mafia 2 because of the story but the 1st dlc..... 0 story and the rest just addons that seemed to have been taken out before hand and repackaged - poorly (jimmys head stuck on vitos body, no mention of jimmy at all in the game, cheap arcade gta rip off missions for the whole thing, 0 cut scenes, no other real characters).

This seems to be exactly the same. They now how both foundations of a familiar story (well a carbon copy of the story just from 'a different persons perspective' and all the bits n bobs they released after like choosing side missions and the points system. they are just trying to throw these bits out while people are still buying the main game and want to play more.

Whatever happened to the good old fashioned add on packs that gave great value for money and plenty of material :(

I wonder when they will offer free roam and extra missions such as taxi fares, drug dealing, assassinations etc. No doubt it will be 'only £8.99' or something ridiculous, and to think I actually pre-ordered this game and showed my support to the developers. It was all over too quickly and I got nowhere near enough playtime to warrant it's price tag. In contrast I've bought Fallout 3 once on PS3, once on PC and once on 360 and each has had at least 70 hours of play... at least. That's 210 hours of play time if you combine the 3 versions and it cost me a grand total of £60 for all three combined. Whereas Mafia 2 cost me £29.99 and has given me about 11 hours. Great value for money there...

You loved Mafia 2 for the story? Mafia 2 was a flop because of the story, it was absolutely generic, made no sense, didn't have a single likeable character within it, really didn't build up other friends/enemies at all and constantly flicked past 5-10 years at will with incredibly weak stories to do so, into jail, out of no where, not even explained how they caught you, how they knew it was you, etc. In jail, horrible horrible contrieved storyline and horribly stupid when you get out.

THe guy who was out of jail this whole time, your best friend, managed to make apparently tonnes of money, but stayed in his crappy small apartment while you move into a house, the whole thing is basically a joke story wise.

Matter of opinion. I loved the story - it was a flop because oh how short/how much had clearly been removed for future use. Most people wanted a similar story to the original but that would have been absolutely horrible, They made a new game and gave it a new story, no one wants a rehash of what theyve done before and if they did anything along the lines of the original then thats what it would have turned into.

I likes Joe and I liked Vito, the characters seemed quite believable. It was quite easy to follow and everything made sense to me in how it was ordered. There were apparent ommisions from the story which as I said is the main gripe with the game. It splits opinion on a lot of things (story included) but 2ks attitude to us gamers is what made it the bad guy.

DLC is here to stay. People keep emptying the wallets each time some half assed *cut from the game release* content is flushed out by these companies.
It's a shame but... Just the way it is.

:

You let go of your interest?

You lost your grip on interest?

Interest gave some slack?

You let interest go free?

Are you trying to say loosening?

No?

Then what on earth could it be?

I'm not buying this. It just takes the ****. I wish I hadn't bought the main game. I should have spent the money supporting companies with a better business model.
