when i turn my pc on fans all spin, then goes quiet, then spins again, but no display on monitor, it just stays on standbye. it happened a while back but then it started working again, just wondering if anyone cane fathom is it MB, GC or Power supply??? please help

Try taking all but one sticks of ram out, see if one of the sticks is dead.
 
can you try another psu, artic power arent the best, and the 3870X2 is a hungry card.

where do you live, maybe someone will be kind enough to try some bits for you?
