I managed to fit two full size holdalls with wheels and two rucksacks into the boot - just.

Nice review sort of, I own an 05 manual and you would never see me near an automatic, they are just too bad.
A few bits make me think you forget the price on the v6 and the options it has, but anyone who really cares gets a v8 and spends the money saved buying a eurobox on upgrades and still end with dollars up.
Yes, the stock cars are utter **** I agree.

Edit: For example, (using some baseless facts/prices from googling) the £17k saved on getting a Mustang over an M3 could be spent on making it a complete at utter beast of a car.
I don't know if the facts are true about the costs, I am converting from american prices but with even 10k you've got a lot of room to improve.

This is in no way a post about what's better or not.

Edit 2: Bemused with some people not liking american cars slightly, I don't see cars as "national" thing, despite owning one of america's most proud I just can't base all cars from one single country all good or bad.
More the price, performance and overall opinion, minus where it's from. I do understand everyone has their freedom to like something or not but for the previous reason, it's a bit generalist. Hate mustangs sure, hate all american cars, what?.

I just generally hate American car design, I am sure there are exceptions to the rule. :)

What £17k? An 05 V8 Mustang is apparently £15k, an 05 M3 is £18k, so the saving is only £3k?

We don't live in America so we cannot buy Mustangs or M3's at American prices.

I'm talking new cars.

That's why I said I'm using american prices, I don't know the UK costs.

So whats the point? Nobody is disputing the value the Mustang represents in its home market.

Neither am I, I just had to get prices from somewhere and from what it looks like quick searches on google show uk prices to be no different in how much more expensive the car costs.
The point? Just typing thoughts and because people are comparing the mustang to more expensive cars. But it's hard to tell if people are really talking about the car you've reviewed or they can't tell the difference between it and the v8. Gibbo already said what I said about the v8 but in detail plus more and how much 30k can get you with tuning etc, but you didn't asking him his point ;)

It was not all aimed at you but everyone else who had posted in this thread comparing other cars/prices.

Hahaha! He owned a VXR8. A bit different. He's also owned big power Supras, Imprezas, several Porsches.

You, on the other hand, own a Toyota Corolla.

'Nuff said?

Not really because this isnt a willy waving competition, I made it perfectly clear what my point was yet you've still managed to twist it into snobbery. I am perfectly aware what it was, my point (which I thought was obvious) is that I, having a different taste and in reply to his comment would have bought something different, IE German, given the same situation.

Are you kidding?

A brand new US Mustang costs about the same as a 3-4 year old one does over here!

No, that was you - you got that reply because you said:

Okayyy I didnt make it perfectly clear and i'll rephrase

"You owned a Vauxhall VXR8, given the same situation I would have bought something German"

Now I am not questioning his choice in car thats nothing to do with me and its a nice car, I just gave the example to prove a point in what one person may consider decent, another may not and vice versa

Sorry, I'm not comparing US prices to UK prices.

I'm comparing the price between a new mustang and an M3 (or other cars people compare it with) which are a lot more expensive.
Does not matter if it's US or UK, the price between these cars are almost double from what I can see unless you can show me otherwise because I'm tired of trawlling through useless websites on google that don't give a straight forward answer.

£35,000 for a Mustang GT Premium imported to the UK with 19's, underseal and Xenons.

Or the same as a Porsche Cayman. Or only £10k less than a BMW M3.

Hardly half the price!
