My mate is currently leading a poker tourney with £600,000 prize pool

Just noticed who went out in 9th - Nicky Katz, the bloke who taught my mate Rob to play - who in turn taught me to play.

:)

I'd never played at a proper table before only on the net but had a wicked time at a $55 tourny in Ceasers Palace poker room, just looked at what time a game was on, walked in and signed up. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and I'd defiantly recommend going there.

Ended up coming 10th out of 191 people, which helped my enjoyment, thou I was buzzing just being there and the cheap drinks while playing more or less covered my entry as it was.

I had a look at their little tournys lsat time we were there and thought it looked the most accessible for a non poker player so might have to give it a go. Only staying next door so not far to wonder.

Report:

Kaveh Payman looked down at {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}, and that was plenty good enough for him to stick all 133,000 of his remaining chips in there. The only problem was that JP Kelly awoke with {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} right next door, and he made the quick call to put Payman in a bad way with five cards to come.

The dealer would provide no help for the at-risk player, either, as he ran out a board of {6-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {J-Spades} {5-Clubs}. That's the end of the road for Payman, though the journey was a fun one to watch. His pay bump takes him up over £30,000 and the money is starting to get serious now.

He's all in, waiting on the outcome.

Pardon me, no he isn't. He called the small blind's all in with A6 and ran into QQ. Lost it, very short now.

In fact, he's down to 8k.
