Hire a midget.......associated costs?

One of my workmates knows someone who had this done to them for their stag. The bloke they hired was quite happy by all accounts, apparently he was a good laugh and as well as getting paid, got free beer & food for the whole stag.

I think as long as it's done in good humour, and the lads on stag aren't complete idiots towards the "midget" it's fine :) If the lads started taking the mick, I think I'd cringe and start to think it was a bad idea. A "mini me" theme is a good one, but if it's just to make him look stupid, I think it's disrespectful towards the poor short bloke.

Am I the only one who finds this distasteful and crass? Ohh, I hear you cry, they wouldn't do it if they didn't want to. It's a valid for of employment for them and it pays well. I feel it objectifies what is an unfortunate medical condition and is tantamount to a modern day freak show. And for what? So you can have a "whacky" (read: utterly unoriginal, bland and moronic) stag do?

A colleague at work has a mentally disabled brother and one day she came home to find him excitedly proclaiming to have caught a troll.. Anyway it turns out he'd seen a dwarf walking down the street, dragged him inside and locked him in the bathroom! :D
