Thanks mate. Yeah I have never owned Turbo : ( I want a steering wheel controller at some stage but it needs to be boxed and minty, to fit in with my console : )

Will get one some day, they fetch a fair old price when boxed

Nice job man! I would love to have something like that, it really does look fantastic. Also the size of that board for Paperboy !

Very cool indeed. Hey did you opt for an Octaganal gate or a square one on the sticks? some of the great classics much prefering a 4 way only, I've always found the oct a decent compromise?

Also what about launching the games, what way do you do that. I've often toyed with idea of a similar thing, but the idea of maybe hving to use a mouse to launch titles put me off. Is there some kind of interface that auto launches and you can just use the sticks to launch?

Thanks mate. Yeah I went with an octagonal gate. The front end (maximus arcade) is launched with windows, from there all navigation and game launching is done with the sticks and buttons. Watch the video I attached in the first post as I show how I do it in that.

Cheers

Nice one, looks great and I loved Paperboy back in the day!

I built a bartop myself (with help from my old man!) a few years back, running Mala with a Minipac interface :

I've recently been debating whether or not to build an upright from scratch or just buy a Candy cab off Ebay and gut it out...

Awesome mate ! Love it : )

LOL I could act a part in it mate, I have seen it many many times. I actually have it on the arcade machine aswell LOL :D

Yeah awesome movie ! I even visited Billy Mitchell's resturant up in Hollywood FL, hoping to see some type of homage to classic gaming. Unfortunately nothing of the sort.. Just a beat up old Ms Pac-man game in the corner amoung a couple of other cabs. Anyway your thread has inspired me. I'm going to download Maximus Arcade tonight and have a whirl on that. I have a couple of sticks ready to go, which i use on Mame all the time.. unfortunately though it's just that.. Just a stick on a desk using an LCD.. Hardly authentic, but good enough for now.. As i said, i have toyed with the idea of a cab, but thinking the missus isn't going to appreciate one.. But with a bit of work, I'm sure I can work around her with ease. :D

Anyway add me to your PSN, I'm RetroGamer :D:D

oh man, looking at the cost of cabs there are $450 + $200 shipping. I think DaMissus would punch me in the head if i came home with one of these minus $650 in the bank account.. Then she'd stamp on my nuts in as I wimpered, we still need a CRT, & some JLF's. Hmmmm perhaps i can get the kids to play on this one a little. :D She always bends to them.
