nice list there mate and only 12 ponud over lol has any one else got any ideas?? and i have i OS what other soft ware would you get???

do you have a monitor?
a nice pc is tarnished by an average quality monitor IMO

rjc's build is pretty much the best you'll get if you want to spend £1000 on parts

the monitor i have at the min is a asus VW220D it was only cheep as my old one brok... could do with some advice on what soft where to use to protect and keep my new pc clean, weather some of the free software is okay to use like avg anti virus,ad-ware ect..

another question AMD 6 core is cheaper that a i7 4 core whitch would you people have and whitch would be faster?? my head say's a should go down the amd route but iits so confusing lol

thanks for the speedy post's all,top people

Intel v AMD debate is a ongoing thing mate. Personally I have a soft spot for AMD, mainly because they rocked when I got into PC's the first time. But Intel has the performance crown right now.

Me I have gone Intel for my game rig. The 950 is a beast of a CPU btw and two months ago was twice the price that it is now.

okay so the 950 it is then :) and the card i have decide on is a GTX470 but whitch do i buy??? brand, model etc..

with regards to the mother board is this the best board to go for as i want to over clock this machine i little(cpu and grafix's) and later up grade to another GTX470 in sli??
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard £144.98

and what do you all think of my monitor???
asus VW220D in black

thanks again all for the input and comments!!!!!!

I can't remember, but I've heard Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58 rev 2.0 is a terrible overclocker compared to rev 1.0 which was reviewed quite highly.

Custom PC says that the best motherboard for an i7 system is Asus PX58D-E which is priced similarily

Few tweaks here and there to the i7 build and squeeze in a decent SSD!:)

thats what the article said, it was to do with the release BIOS being pants.

Bit-tech(Custom pc sister site) tested it,

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/2010/08/19/gigabyte-ga-x58a-ud3r-rev-2-review/7

and its also has a quick revisit in this months mag due out 30th September, and its business as usual with the board.
