Virgin Media Engineer. Really?

The pay structure within HPD is the same as within the rest of Honda afaik - the figures for that year simply only had HPD listed, if you want I can go find one from Honda road cars, and I gave a second example using Hyundai

I'm saying that the same position within UK R&D for vehicles would be at about £60k tops, which you were disputing. I assumed you were implying that you got paid more, which is why I said HOW MUCH is the equivalent position in UK then...

In order to even begin to be EVEN with USA you'd need to have a salary of $1=£1 due to $1 getting you further than £1

No major OEMs do R+D in the UK.

Honda has part of their R&D in UK still afaik.

If I wanted to design hondas I'd go to japan... Talkingof which the Honda stuff at Swindon is comically crap salaries.
Well yes, the good Hondas are from Japan ... but I was simply using them as an example ...

And the Swindon comment wouldn't surprise me, their bigger R&D facility is on the mainland (as is true for ALL the automakers now)

Which is why it is pretty hard to compare salaries within similar organisations in UK and USA, as we don't have any.

I do know of someone who worked for Tesla in UK and was then relocated to USA to carry on with the same job. Afaik his salary went up quite a bit in relative terms (ie he got paid more after exchange rate), which means it skyrocketed in real terms when you take into account the cost of living

Don't you like it that much? Admittedly I've only spent a couple of days up there meeting my employer (immediately got contracted down south), but it seemed quite nice. Better than I thought it would be.

Don't listen to him, Aberdeen isn't all that bad ;)

Speaking as a student though!

Not too bad but I went to uni in Manchester and grew up in Newcastle, Aberdeen is a bit small lol
