On my G15 it shows the CPU maxed out at points during a round of BC2, not sure how accurate it is but it deffo shows it.

It does.

On my Q9550 @ 3.4GHz I often see it well above 75-80% on all 4 cores with my GTX460. This is at 1920x1200 4xMSAA-16xCSAA and 16xAF with HIGH settings in DX11.

Puts my Phenom II at 3.85Ghz under massive load.

The game appears to be using all four cores when available. Here we used a standard Core i7 920 processor running at 2.66GHz. Please note HyperThreading was disabled and a single Radeon HD 5850 graphics card was used. As you can see none of the cores are working very hard.

An i7 920 is not an "older" quad core cpu by any stretch! It's computational power at stock outweighs anything actual older quads can deliver overcocked!

BC2 showed a massive performance improvement for me when I upgraded to an i5 760 from a Q6600. It's an incredibly CPU intensive game. That's using the same graphics card (GTX 460).

Technically speaking, I can't discuss any officially unannounced products but the branch that will contain the BF:BC2 optimizations won't be out till at least towards the end of the month.
