Scammer lawyler gets owned

Voice of reason...

So if 4chan took down your own private webmail and exposed all your personal emails that'd be OK too, right? ;)

I'm just as anti the type of antics these lawyers get up to as the next guy, but two wrongs rarely make a right.

Not worth starting a thread for, but my tutor at the College of Law told me an amusing and related story last week.

She was driving her car when a car pulled out infront of her resulting in a crash. The man from the other car immediately got out and started threatening legal action and telling her what the law was on the matter. In short, he was claiming it was all her fault and that she would be made to pay for the damage. She asked:

"Are you sure that's the law?"
"Yes it's the law! I'm a solicitor! Who the hell are you?"
"Really? I'm a judge"

The word pwned has never been more appropriate.

I doubt they would have been exposed had they not been so bad.

the pirate bay had an organised DOS attack against some anti piracy companies website aswell lol, but only because the company took it upon themselfs to ilegally DOS attack the pirate bay in the first place

It wasn't private (read: personal) webmail. It was webmail representative of a company acting illegally behind a façade of false law and threats.

If I were playing God, lying and cheating thousands of pounds from innocent members of the public, whilst bragging to strangers via company email... well i wouldnt be suprised if i was eventually ousted. I wont say i would be ok with my webmail being published, because I would never be so callous and vile to start with.

He may have stated he is behind anti piracy laws, but he has never stated to be behind ACS:Law, they are two very difference stances.

This web page is not available. The web page at http://www.acs-law.org.uk/index.php might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
So it seems the site is still down... but that's not all; 4chan appears to be down as well:

Could this be related?

The Wikipedia page about them makes for interesting reading however:
The only records of successful cases fought by ACS:Law are those which were won by default when the defendants failed to appear[9][17][18], and the firm admit that they have yet to successfully prove a case in court.[19] ACS:Law state that "it has been said that we have no intention of going to court but we have no fear of it".[8]

This is the first time I've heard of this law firm but from what I've heard so far they sound a little dodgy IMO.

Privacy International said on Monday that it plans to sue ACS:Law for violating the privacy of internet users over the security breach.
**** just got real

I wonder how those e-mails got leaked, it makes you wonder if the network admin could have done it accidently-on-purpose if he wasn't too keen on his boss...

EDIT: This makes for interesting reading, it seems they managed to get over £600k if you believe the figures: http://torrentfreak.com/leaked-emails-reveal-profits-of-anti-piracy-cash-scheme-100926/

My friend got a letter for apparently downloading a song, can't remember what it was, but it was ****. They wanted something like £600 for it. Though she had never even downloaded that particular song.
