Show off something

Are they all on a gap "yah" and talk like this "I then chunder everywhere after 20 pints"

nope, sure a few were public school but most were run of the mill people, ranging from 18-40, and I'm sure all of us chundered at some point or another but I dare say so would you given the abuse we put our livers through :)

I've travelled all over the world, met many thousands of people but the friends I make on my ski seasons are still the best and most loyal friends I have.

try it

Will - how do you "get out of work" so to speak each year to take ski seasons? A course in instructing skiing was something I looked at doing during my gap yahh, and thought "what's the point? Once I start work I won't be able to use it". How do you find the time to instruct as well as make "real" money, which based on your cars etc you clearly do!?

depends on who I'm working for, if im contracting thats easy I just work 6 months in the summer then ski in the winter, if im full time I'll arrange a sabtical with remote office access so my projects can still tick over and I can contribute should the need arise.

money wise ski instructing pays bloody well, fair enough I wee it up against the wall but generally 150-200 a day is achieveable if you go private.

all depends what you want to do with your life really, if its something you really want to do and are passionate about it "where there's a will there's a way" ;)

Like you said it costs a fortune to do, not many people can afford to take time off to go skiing and on the piste.

not true, my first job was a ski tech, never done the job before in my life, after one weeks (paid) training I went on to take home after tax £1200-1400 a month and had my accomodation paid for. It's only as expensive as you want to make it.

You need to update your thread with the inards. :)

There is not much to update yet as we are still trying to sort out the planning permission and fire regulations. However we received some news today which means that we may be leaving the uk when we finish our specialty training so we may end up having to sell the place in a couple of years :(

I'm 33 and I'm a computer consultant/ski instructor :)

That computer consultant part must be working out for you VERY well!! Were you in a big private company first, before branching out yourself?

I'm 43 and a Director of a couple of companies.

If you don't mind me asking what was your route? Just by working, accountant, banking, financial services (wide definition! what part)...thanks.

Sorry for the questions...and no worries if you'd rather not answer. Well done though.
