M5 worth buying

It's the wrong blue for Fox isn't it? I thought he wanted an Estoril Blue version.

Pretty impressive if it's been looked after as he says it has. It just goes to show there are people out there who are as anal as we are about our cars. :p

Honest to god i will buy ANYTHING if its clearly cheap, cars vans plant office equipment i dont give a toss, but that just dont seem cheap enough to be a guaranteed pay day with a quick sale.
 
A certain person on this subforum should go with their heart and purchase what (from what i've gathered over the years) would seem to be a night-on perfect car, given what's left in terms of decent M5's, and what little will be left in the future.

All things being equal...

Im not past the odd boot sale, my daughter loves them i set her up and leave her and her mate there for the day, come back at closing time :)

Iv seen her nick 1700 quid one sunday, winner.

Bit better than me, I use to only make a few hundred doing that one on the A3 selling crud from the garage and loft.

She had 2 houses worth of junk i bought at auction her and her mate cleared both houses, worked proper hard and flogged the lot at Bromley common boot sale very good job :)
 
Oh, an M5. I quite like those.

Very rare to find one thats still a one owner car - exceptionally rare, infact. These remain my dream car but it's a dream which I suspect will remain unrealised, perhaps until I'm lucky enough to be able to afford multiple cars, in which case a classic E39 M5 will live under a dust cover in the garage.

For now? I have said that if I was to find my absolute dream M5 it would be very hard to resist scratching the itch. This one, despite it's fantastic history, is not that car. I'd want one in Estoril Blue with champagne/beige leather interior and the satnav system. Simply because the nav system makes the dash much nicer. I am led to beleive there are less than 20 in the country matching this spec, so I doubt I'll ever have one.

Perhaps the bigger problem is that it solves absolutely none of the things which make me fancy a new car. 80% of the time, it would be no different to mine, either in looks or drive (ie on the 4 mile commute through traffic to work). It has the same interior. The same exterior. The same tech level and the bills are even bigger. This one is also older than mine. It doesnt have any of the more modern features like iDrive, etc.

So unfortunately I remain on track to buy something largely dull and predictable next. I have lots of important factors to consider and my next car must slot into those rather than hinder those, which I suspect a 10 year old 5 litre M Powered E39 would do.

I'll always love them, though.
