*** Official FIFA 11 Thread ***

Got this today and not sure if I like it, I have played 4 matches so far and I am using wigan so hardly a great team but every match ended 0-0

I have played man u, man city, newcastle and juventus and they all feel exactly the same,

I have even tried changing difficulty, from world class, then down to prefessional and now semi pro and and it seems impossible to score but very easy to defend,
 
On the demo I found it was very hard to score on professional. I had to win on penalties.

I will be playing as Stoke in the full game though, so will probably drop the difficulty down to semi-pro till I get used to it again.
 
I just noticed that one of my goals that i uploaded that i scored on WORLD CLASS says i played on amature on the easportsworld thing,

Makes me look like a noob :D

Would you want a game where you score every attempt? That would be an extremely boring game with absolutely no longevity. Instead, you need to become better at the game :)

I wouldn't worry about it, leave it on Professional. Pennant/Etherington to anywhere in the box = Jones header on target

If not, roll it back to a midfield box to box role Gudjohnsen for a sweet strike. :cool:

not sure why but when im playing fuller seems to be a much better header of the ball than jones.

Infact jones gets pushed over in the air :(

Strong as hell when on the ball though

EDIT: for some reason stoke have got red socks instead of white :D and Pennant is number 7 ant not EG

What's everyone using control settings wise?

There are a few more options than in FIFA10, so I'm experimenting as to what suits me best at the moment.

On the whole I'm loving it but finding it a lot harder to get round people and win the ball back. Some guy online kept knocking it round me with ease and I couldn't work out how he was doing it!

Great game though.
 
Im finding it same but also more rewarding when you do score imo :D Re-started it on pro as liverpool (manager mode) and first game 5-0 2nd 2-0 then 2-1

At first i was doing player-manager as A.Madrid controlling one player the striker and my god it was extremly difficult imo i drew every single game just couldnt do anything that was on pro too so i either suck more than i think or the AI does when in that mode.
 
Anyone here play with all assists off? I've never bothered messing with assists, just left them all on default and notched difficulty up. I can imagine playing with all assists off will make it really hard.

Quite easy its all about timing.

When the opposition is about halfway between getting the ball quickly double tap foward the right stick. 8/10 i will get past people this way.

On controlls im playing default but with passing power set to assisted. At default through balls just end up behind your players no matter how powerful you charge them. Feels more like FIFA 10 but without ping pong with power assist
 
I did it once to get the trophie and its very difficult i found again you feel better when you win with all assists off but i wouldnt be able to do it every game or online id be losing 10-0 constantly =/
 
Anyone ever have a problem with fifa 10 where it would take a long time to load your info from EA or to get a ranked match? Mine appears to be the same again this year and crashes after every club match also :(

Nope but i did have it with FIFA WC and wasnt ever able to fix it =/ people suggest making sure all router settings were right i.e. ports open for which ever consol
 
I think I need to read up on penalties, I presume it's crucial to get the moving dash in the green zone? I do that and still sky the penalty
