I've got both, meaning that (a) both have enough qualities to consider buying one and (b) I'm an anti-social nerd with more money than sense.

From my point of view...

Xbox 360:
+ Better control pad (left analogue stick in the right place, no dead zone on analogue sticks, proper triggers)
+ Better platform (HDD installs work well, doesn't ask me to update the OS every other day)
+ Better game loading times
- Lots of hidden costs - XBL Gold sub, Play & Charge kit, etc.

PS3:
+ Better exclusives (especially if you also own a PC)
+ Blu-ray
+ Free multiplayer
- Mandatory installs suck. Trying to play the demoes off the Move disc was painful.

i have both and would say that the ps3 has the better exclusive games . both great consoles . loved gears of war 1 and 2 and the halo series , but the ps3 just edges it for me . and gt5 will be the icing on the already sweet cake.

Get yourself on game trailers and look at the exclusives. Decide which you want to play, the games that the consoles have in common are for the most part the same experience. So let the exclusives make up your mind.

For me, I always say PS3, But thats because I prefer more of the exclusives. Saying that I'd own both consoles rather than just 1, as the xbox 360 has some great exclusives too

Take a look what exclusive games are coming to both consoles in the next 12 months , theres hardly anything for xbox but loads for ps3 . both have great games already , but most xbox so called exclusives games are on pc

i would say ps3 but thats only because i prefer not to have to pay for online gaming.

It doesnt really matter what's coming in the next 12 months for a new console owner does it. You can include all exclusives from the lifetime of the console. The xbox 360 has a lot of fantastic exclusives in the past, and quite a few good ones coming up. I'm looking forward to quite a few games on 360 over the next 12 months

Halo 3(ODST and Reach), Forza 3, Gears of war 2, Fable 2, Dead Rising, Lost Odyssey, Alan wake, Eternal Sonata and Crackdown.

I own both, lately the 360 has seen very little use lately (even though I have 55 odd games)

The PS3 on the other hand is used quite often, the majority of PS3 games I have are exclusives.

The Xbox controller I find is better than the PS3 one, but I guess it's all down to personal preference

The xbox exclusives are hardly worth buying the console for . most of them bar gears and halo will end up on pc and as most users of these forums have hi end gaming pc's the obvious choice is ps3 with its better exclusive games coming in the next year . gt5 any one ?

Of the games i have listed, I am willing to bet many pennies that at the most 2 of them will come to PC. Gears 2, possibly Alan wake. Although only gears 2 has my faith.

Your whole post is one big IMO. Because although I agree the better exclusives are on PS3, That doesnt mean other people do.

It's completely dependant on what you consider a good game.

If MGS4, God of war 3 and unchartererered werent on PS3. I'd say 360 had the better exclusives. That's only 3 games!

Yeah I gotta say, I bought my 'Box for Halo, Gears and Alan Wake. The PS3 only interests me for Killzone and Resistance... GT5 looks very boring, but then I'm not really into racing games these days.

alan wake looks ******** on a HDTV, mainly because its such low resolution. 360 is past its peak, reach has been and its now gone. Next year is the down cycle

ps3 hasnt reached that peak yet .
