fifa 11 4870x2 problem

Hi all

After playing fifa 11 on my com (in sig) i have noticed that the temps on my gpu do not go down back to idle temps afterwards.

The only way i can get temps to go back down is a restart or quickly run another game then quit and then the temps start going downwards.

The only game i have this problem with is fifa 11 and everything else to do with the game and all other games is fine, Im running cats 10.9a

Any ideas? because running another game even briefly or restarting after playing a game of fifa is starting to annoy me LOL

Sounds like its not quitting properly maybe. Have you checked task manager to see if the process is still running after you exit?

Thanks for the suggestion, I have not checked that but i will do, The game does quit properly by the normal method its just that my gpu sits there after ive quit still at load temps.

As i said in the op no other game does this in fact i have been loading other games briefly after playing fifa 11 then quitting them to get the gpu to kick in and take it back to idle temps.

my 4870X2 does the same thing with starcraft II sometimes for some reason, thinking driver glitch personally, since it only does it every now and again rather than all the time. does it happen to you every single time?

I dont have starcraft 2 so i couldnt test it on that but on fifa 11 then yep mine does it every time i play it. I have looked around the web for a solution but i found nothing.

Are you using the 10.9a cats Gashman?

yeah use 10.9a, was using 10.6 before that and it never did it, thats why i thought it might be driver related...

I went from 10.5s to 10.9a
At least we know now that the problem is`nt confined to a single game

well as far as im aware nobody has have problems with starcraft II, just me so far..! only problems people have seemed to have with that is overheating, which is one i haven't had even though X2s sometimes getting needlessly hot!

As i said i searched the net for a simalar awnser to my fifa problem and found nothing.
my temps when gaming fifa are normal and not high at all ,its just that they wont go back down to idle.
From your sig i can see that we do not share any other components apart from the 4870x2 and even they are different brands
