From the Ryder Cup last week.

Just goes to show how luck plays a massive part in great shots.

Photo here.

For camera buffs, Pain was using a Nikon D3S camera, with a 24-70 mm lens and a shutter speed of 1/1000 of a second.

This image have lots of lol bits. Through my eyes, I see guy with cigar, a periscope (ala submarine came into my head!), confused geezer on the left in red coat, random kid in the middle scene (tucked between 2 guys), the surrendering man in blue and the impending golf ball heading towards the camera guy's face feel.

What a great picture, mainly because of the faces in the croud and the fact everybody is looking at the camera, and the golf ball of course!

I'll have to remember this for next time I'm doing a large group shot - I can't actually find a single person blinking. Even if I generally give a countdown, someone always blinks

I ask my lot to close their eyes and open them on 3. Snap after counting 3.

...confused geezer on the left in red coat...

That's Tiger Wood's caddy. He's probably looking confused as to why Tiger miss hit the shot so badly!:p

Some of the comments on the Daily Mail site are hilarious. They refer to the guy in fancy dress and a cigar as 'The Indian Gentleman'. :D

Cigar Man is quickly becoming an internet sensation! :D

I think its overexposed, he should have metered off the Ball:rolleyes:

I tend to agree.

The photo also exposes the weakness of teh D3s's focus tracking and poor representation of DOF ....

it's obvious even to a lay person that if the shot had been captured on a Canon camera then the ball would also be pin sharp ;)
