Just got my system reinstalled after a dead mobo and cpu.

After a bit of rough overclocking its folding an A3 work unit stably.

Vcore @ 1.475v( 1.46v Loaded) running 20x200 (4Ghz) @ 52'c max under water

I'll do some proper FSB Overclocking monday as Im off work just wanted to see if I've found a chip that clocks on low volts or anything unusual

Is this temperature under load? If yes, quite eimpressive! :)

What watercooling did you use?

edit: I did see it is custom, but what is the assembly?

Temps are load running folding@home, slightly warmer today and hit 55'c

cooling consists of:

XSPC Delta V3 CPU Block
XSPC Dual bay res/pump combo
XSPC RS120.1 Rad
EK Coolstream 120.2 Rad
1/2 Barbs w/ 7/16 clear hose.
Distilled water/Mayhems Dye UV Purple

Done a little benching at 4.2 so will do some proper testing tomorrow and see what I can get it upto or the voltages down by.

Very good chip, most won't go over 3.8 unless you pump 1.53-1.55v through them.
Good temps too, should be fine as long as you're within 50-55c range, might start crashing after that.

Not really true depends on the step a C2 version can be troublesome but pretty much all C3's will hit 3.8 and over no problem without more than 1.5 volts mine personally hit's 3.8 at 1.425 V

Most will do 3.8 at stock, but then for 3.9-4 u'll need 1.52-1.55 ;-).

And that's c3, c2 usually won't go anywhere past 3.9 at all.

Yeah most will fail prime 95 at 3.8 on stock volts so i'm not sure where u are getting your info from, Mine will happilly do 4Ghz on 1.475 volts @52 degrees it's the temp that stops amd's performing keep the temp in the low 40's and i can hit 4.2 at the same voltage go figure.

voltage is not the be all and end all of a chip taking into account multi, fsb,ht link etc etc all play part in getting a stable overclock

+1

I used to play around with mine when I bought it - mainly to find its limits and then leave it at peace. Once my curiosity was satisfied, of course.

here, ive got an unlocked phenom 555 c3 does 3.7ghz stock volts (admittedly, stock volts do appear to be 1.375 when i think it should be 1.35. i think that one may be a motherboard issue). If i go right upto the max 1.55v, then it will do 4ghz stable, with the motherboard sensors showing about 46-48.c (which translates into 56-58.c actual core temps by my judgement). needless to say, it doesnt spend much time running at 4ghz

cant get much more out of it though. If i relock the two cores then it'll do 4.1.

Got her down a bit further now sat @ 1.41250 with a 250x16 clock.

I decided on a clock I wanted and am finding the lowest volts it needs rather than going for maximum clock.

Currently loaded at 50'c
