We are one day closer as Virgin Galactic's suborbital spaceship Enterprise made its first solo test flight yesterday. The spaceship was dropped from its mothership at 45,000ft and made a glide landing to the Mojave Air and Space Port:

It should be an interesting day out:

If you are prepared pay £126,000 for a short hop into space then you can place a deposit here.

Do we have any takers? :D

Great news. Is this Spaceship 2 then (Edit, watched the video and yes it is.)? Seeing as a flight with NASA doesn't leave much change out of £30Million, I think £126,000 is quite reasonable.;) Also if they can get this up and running on a regular basis then hopefully the industry will grow and prices will come down.

when i go collect my euro millions winings after this is first on my list, for you to simman as a prezzy from me !

i wishes

If I won the lottery this would be one of the first things on my list.

All things considered 126k isnt that bad. I bet they will start to see a steady flow of people and hopefully (as has been said) will bring rise to some competition.

I LOVE Virgin Galactic, it's one of few things in the world which is truly awesome. A trip to space is definitely one of my goals in life.

There is a Virgin Galactic documentary on National Geographic next Monday. :)

I actually got shivers watching that. As sad as it is that leaving the cradle has been left up to private enterprise maybe it will be for the best in the long run.

I've been following Virgin Galactic for a long time now, its great to see it all come together and the first purpose built spaceport in new Mexico.
