And what psus have you tried? If you've tried 3 half decent psus it sounds like you may have a dry joint on the mainboard perhaps.

Yes all fans are running its on just now buty no signal on my lcd
changed the graphics card there and still the same

QUOTE=terminator2k2;17552680]hi there

yes i have be quiet psus theyt are usually good the comp is running just now but with no signal

Try with only one stick of ram and double check they are in the correct slots, did this on my build.

Also try the board external to the case, this also sounds like a short.

Checked to see that the cpu heatsink is properly seated?

Tried using one/two sticks of RAM?

Tried resetting the BIOS?

You're going to have to use some initiative to try and pin point exactly whats wrong with it.

The first thing I'd be doing is disconnecting everything from the mainboard, ie all usb devices including front usb headers etc, any DVD drives, any add in cards (obviously excluding the video card).

You want to be running it bare bones with only the hard drive connected and one stick of RAM, then you can start adding things back in until the fault re-appears.

If however you're still getting no joy after taking all the non essentials out of the equation then I'm afraid it looks like it could well be new board time.

i havent checked teh ram yet will do that next
i changed the mobo, psu, and then i even tried a diff graphics card. I need to take a break before i lose it will try teh memory tomorrow and start from bare bones when i get home i will let you know how i get on thanks for your help its much appreciated

Sounds like overheating, use hardware monitor program to see what the temps are like, it gives chip, GPU, hard drive etc, basically all of them...Sounds like overheating to me....

Is it a first build? Have you plugged in both power adaptors to motherboard? A 24 pin is not enough juice.

I had a friend who tried to run an 8800GTS with just the PCIE slot.. and he wonderedwhy it ran slow in AVP :)

Cheers

Von

checked the h50 everything looks fine

this is not my 1st build all connectors are in just cant seem to get it been driving me nuts

thanks for your replies everyone i will start checking again on thursday got a couple of days off b.day tomorrow going on the booze will let you all know how im getting on would rather do without the misses than my comp lolol

2 ideas...

1). Download Core temp, double check temps.
2). I once had a killer virus on my PC. Never experienced anything like it before. It kept switching itself off after a few minutes. Took me weeks, bit by bit to get rid of the problem with the limited minutes before it died. After I got rid of it and scanned the whole PC with several Anti Virus programs three times. There was always a small under lying problems.

The best thing from there was a FORMAT. Pain but it worked. Worth checking.

well i got it on today while i installed windows on a new hdd everything went fine updates installed then when i fixed the cables and took the pc of my desk it wouldnt boot while all fans and lights were working just wouldnt show the bootscreen or load windows just saying no signal thought that was it sorted aswell booo hooo im running out of ideas

hey Johnny boy, have you tried reseating your gfx card, when I first read your thead a dodgy power button sprung to mind but since you've mentioned you've had it running for a while it doesnt sound like that. could be a bit of dust between the card and mobo, just a thought m8. if you need to try another card got an old 4650 sitting here doing nothing I use for test purposes

awrite bazman

waiting on new psu coming got an old card there aswell m8 hopefully it be the power supply got 1 returned as an RMA and think its blew my graphics,,, i am raging mad

hail hail
