I saw the thread title and was expecting serious and rational discussion of this important subject.
Imagine my disappointment.
Wow that is UTTERLY DISGUSTING.
I'm getting fed up of this....
Note to everyone outside the UK:-
WE DONT WANT YOU HERE, GO AWAY AND STAY IN UR OWN COUNTRY!!
Seriously.
/rage.
If they are residents here, then yes. Why does the location matter?

What if they are home educated?
...and what does it matter where they live? If anything it's CHEAPER for us if they live abroad as the children are less of a drain on our resources (education, health, etc).
Typical knee-jerk reaction by the tabloids to something they clearly haven't actually sat down and thought about.
Lol, I don't agree with people whining about immigrants sponging off the benefit system usually but this sentence made me laugh.
If their not a citizen of the UK, why should you pay anything for them? Let their country pay for it, jeez, if the UK government was going to pay child benefits to every European country we might as well declare ourselves bankrupt.

The immigrants pay their National Insurance, they are eligible for their benefits.
The whole benefit culture is a fraud.
Hell if you can't afford to have kids, then don't have them!
they may currently pay, but may not have been paying for the previous work they did in another country.
therefore attacting foreign workers who come to the country and claim some kind of benefit from the moment they get their first pay cheque may infact make it economically unsound for us to do this.
especially when we have such high unemployment ourselves.
I'm sure plenty of people's assessments of whether they can afford kids is based around the additional benefits that they can claim from the government.
This! Don't you think this is incredibly wrong? The only reason that is stopping myself and my missus having a child right now is the lack of funds and a house big enough to house us all. Are we one of the only couples with morals?
It would, however, be immoral to claim what you are not entitled to i.e. the absurd disability benefit claims in this country. That's what the real immorality lies.
Oh no, I've eaten all the pies and now I'm too fat to work! Disability benefit please!
Oh no, my ***** husband is too fat to work! Carers allowance please!
It's not really a deduction in the sense a working tax credit would be though, is it? If I am working and don't have children, then it shouldn't really be any different than an EU worker with children living abroad.
