Friend rolled his car...

It's a good job you weren't thinking straigt at the time as there are far worse places to crash!

Glad you're OK :)

Sure is.

I look back and laugh at it as i was in my boxer shorts covered in blood. Walked past my neighbour said hello then got in the car and drove out the street which is a cul de sack, I chose the wrong end and was spinning around on the grass then drove off down the road.

Now know that suicide is the cowards way out somewhat a long term solution to a short term problem. Mines were drink problems money and job issues and my Girlfriend had just been with a best mate so was all over the place.

Will never let anything or anyone do that to me again. Hardest part was watching my dad crying and shaking as he saw me in hospital. made me feel evil.

I swung the car back onto the left side but did so so quickly that my back began to slide left

Back end swings out to the left when steering left?? Somebody doesn't know their right & left.

Reminds me of this incident, although admittedly better driving skills on display.

Has everybody else here missed the point that the OP's friend did nothing wrong? the guy in the pug sped up when he pulled alongside, if he had held his speed like he should the OP's friend would have passed him and pulled in safely, instead the OP's friend had no choice but to try and accelerate past and swerve in before the oncoming car hit him.

Well assuming the other car he was overtaking didn't also speed up to stay glued to the bumper of the Pug, he could quite easily have eased up and tucked in behind the second car, rather than trying to race it and swing in front.

The guy was an idiot for attempting a 2 car overtake in a 1.2 Punto. Simple as that. He's lucky nothing was coming the other way after he lost control or he could have been looking at a prison sentence like the guy on that PH thread who crippled the biker after spinning his car on a bend.

If you're in a slow car you have to sit in traffic. When I'm in the Focus I have to just chill out and go with the traffic flow. If I'm in the Boxster I'll overtake, but even then not 2 cars at once unless there's tons of visibility. On the bike it's a different matter. All depends how long you are going to be in the wrong lane

One of my more 'acrobatic' incidents from my crazy younger days, the car (Old 84?86? Cavalier SRi) was luckily for me upside down when it hit the rather substantial tree, if it had been the right way up then that impact would have occurred where I was sat...

The top of the passenger pillar was left touching the gear-stick, the pic sadly does not show how banana shaped the car was left either, crawled out of it with a badly bruised back and cuts to my head and face.

How did it happen? I was going far too fast with not enough skill! Well, a rear tyre departed company with the rim but the speed I was doing and the lack of run-off meant there was not going to be a happy ending :D The Council later took down every tree on this particular dual-carriageway after a few deaths from similar incidents :(

I absolutely hate when people do that, I had this one guy who was traveling 30mph i went to overtake and he put his foot down the arse. then fobbed me off like I done something wrong? at least ur friend is unharmed. I cant say much regarding the driving bad judement or poor handling of car / technique. my car seems to understeer and sticks like glue to the road at the rear so no matter how baddly i throw it around ive never lost a rear end.

Drive the A286 daily.

Would this be the King Edwards straight coming into Midhurst past the hill in the middle? That is such a very long straight; how was that possible?

Should have braked.

I cant see it being that difficuilt to get back to the left after braking and letting the first car past, unless there was a large gap between the cars in which case he should not have attempted to overtake both.

I was not there though, so.
