Bought my sisters Yaris from a set up like this a few years ago, He mainly dealt with prestige motors with the odd super mini in the mix.

Good luck with it :), He seemed to do well out of it.

Got a mate who sells at the other end of the market lol.. not as fun

But when all is said and done all i care about is money, im not bothered what sort of cars produce it.

Exactly why i generally stick to small engined hatches. Much easier to sell, totally different buyer profile to that of something interesting, they just come along, and buy. Selling better stuff attracts enthusiasts, which are a lot more work.

I would suggest you take out a Glass's subscription.

Glasses is not great value at £400 per year, but some traders will ONLY use Glasses and some ONLY Cap.

I've invested in both and use mainly CAP.

HPI account is a must, and make sure you sign up for Driveaway too, free insurance for punters!

eBay motors account is also a good for marketing, and Autotrader account a MUST.

Im just not expert enough to reel off all the info, even cars iv owned i cant tell you all the ins and outs like say Fox can, i just havent got the memory for it.

Why do you mainly use CAP?

Glasses values are fairly high in comparison to CAP, and they don't grade them as Below, Average and Clean in terms of condition.

Some cars can't even be retailed for Glasses guide trade price!

How does that free insurance work then, do i have to pay?

Also finance co's and a credit licence, that will have to go in my sons name thanks to my being a **** years ago and getting into bother i think.

What i find as well is that small hatches are often not even bought with the buyers money which makes it much easier.

It will be wives, girlfriends, daughters etc, with husbands/partners/dads money. All these buyers are generally interested in is the colour and style, then the person funding it just wants to see that its got a decent history and fresh mot/tax etc so that they wont need to bother doing anything to it for a while.

Enthusiasts poke around a lot, and tend to unfortunately waste a lot of time, as they want to view loads of them.

Im the enthusiast type myself, so i cant blame them at all, but its not worth bothering with as a seller in my experience.

No it's free for you providing you maintain your account with HPI, ah yes forgot about CCL, you will need to be FSA licensed to sell any finance or insurance based products.

Some good advice here cheers, i dont like asking people i know, none of them have any time, too busy playing golf and such.

We have them in the Pawn shops, i wonder if its the same licence.

You used to be able to get Driveaway free without needing an account with anyone:

But it now seems to ask for a reference number, so not sure how much help that is :p

Im going to investigate this tomorrow, i dont understand what insurance co's are getting out of doing this though really.

Also i will have to look at this credit licence business, see what depresses me is my boy should be on top of all this, not ****ing about playing play station with his girl friend.
