Leather chair

Still don't see how those Markus chairs are at all comfy

They aren't.

Most people who rate them are upgrading from £20-£30 argos / staples chairs. So yes a £115 chair is going to be better and feel good in comparison. But in the grand scheme of things, they are crap. You can do much better for the same money, by going bankrupt stock or over buy stock.

Back to square one then! I have a lot to do on Saturday I cant be wasting time in the hellish world of Ikea looking at a chair that I already have a feeling I wont like and I dont fancy paying £140 for the others

It's more comfortable than the VikingDirect ones.

Have you tried one? Not trying to be a **** but I tried a few chairs when I was last at ikea and the Rome is much more comfortable than I remember any of the ikea ones being, they just felt a bit cheap to me. This was a tad hard at the begining but once it broke in its been great.

Sitting on a sharpened broomhandle would be better than Viking chair: they are the Argos of office furniture.

I have a Markus, but I'm adult enough to know that no one chair is for everyone. The only advice I can realistically give is: don't buy anything you haven't sat on.

You paid £75! :(

My bed, curtains, blinds and carpet are all cream I would have snapped it up for £75 but all my PC gear is black so not sure, plus i'd sit in it a lot and cream gets dirty

It does look comfy though, I wish you never said you got it for £75! ha

Whats this one Markus one then, anyone got any proper pics to share please?

Just to make it worse I believe the cream ones were once only £50 or even less when it was on sale. :D

Honestly though, that Markus chair just doesn't look great for me. It doesn't seem to have much back support for starters. I haven't tried one however. :o

i sat in an ikea markus one for the first time at the weekend, tbh i was surprised how comfy it was, if i could have fitted it in the car i would be sitting on it right now!! there were two of them and one was really sweet the other wasn't comfy at all, so i guess it's all in setting it up right...
there are plenty of comfy chairs around but you do really need to sit on them so mail order is a bit dodgy unless you already know what the chair is like.

the office i worked in over in canada had ones like this http://www.ergonomicchairpro.com/Ergohuman-ME7ERG-Mesh-High-Back-Chair_p_51-1188.html absolutely top drawer - apart from the arm rests eating all the elbows out of shirts!

some bags of rubbish and a cardboard box maybe? This guy seems happy...

That looks pretty good actually. I'm getting sick of leather chairs falling to bits, so might opt for something like this next time. Either that or look into the mesh chairs.

I managed to get a leather chair from Staples for £80, which should have been £150. It was one of their most expensive chairs at the time. Its very comfortable and is still comfortable about 2-3 years on. But as is the case with every cheap leather chair I've ever bought there are areas of fake leather that have now started to peel and looks a bit shabby.

I think whatever you go for that is under £200 is going to last 2-3 years at the most before it looks a bit tatty.

I owned one for 2 years.

Recently bought a Markus and find it quite nice! Build quality isn't amazing but then this is Ikea so it's no surprise. That was the first and hopefully last time I ever go to Ikea.
