Hi guys can you possibly give me a few suggestions for a suitable amd cooler which will blow out the back of the case as opposed to through the top of the tower?

this is going to be tough, but how about a Corsair H50/70? fit the radiator too the fan hole at the rear and attach the supplied fan to it.

I may want to make note that this will be my first time to install a cpu cooler, so the more user friendly and straight forward would be ideal :) The computer i purchase was a pre built from overclockers see. Sorry to be difficult :(

when I say tough, i dont mean the fitting of the cooler, but rather suggesting a cooler that points the right way, without seeing any others apart from my own i cant suggest anything else in case its not right.

also I dont know if some AM3 motherboards have the socket rotated differently.

Would this photo help mate? Btw excuse the dust lol

the akasa venom has already been suggested (even by yourself :p)

and in answer o your using an extra viper fan as a case fan, you might as well strap it onto the other side of the cooler (so one on the front pulls air in, one on the back sucks it out)(, and keep the current fan you got in the picture where it is

Now that's a great idea with having one sucking and then blowing out i like it. But that's what i wasn't sure would that vipor fit with my current set up and blow straight through the back mate? Thanks again

No tower cooler that fits using a standard socket mount will blow out the back on that motherboard. Mounting bar goes north-south so radiator will always go east-west and fan blow north or south, so to speak. And you cannot change rotation that on an AMD mount unlike a 775 mount.

The only choice is a hsf that removes the socket and mounts direct to the mobo and a lot of those can only be fixed one way too.

This is a real toughy. The Ultra 120 is about the only one I can think of as suggested above. BUT looking at the space available I'm not sure it would fit like that without fouling your psu.

ah, orientation does change things a bit.

the zalman i have can be mounted either way, its just a simple bar that clips onto the existing plastic mould on the motherboard (like the stock cooler does). You can either stick it through the middle of the heatpipes (so cooler faces up/down), or thread it in between them (left/right)

Any chance you could provide me a link to that zalman cooler mate? that sounds quite promising to be honest. Thanks again!

Airrunner, I love posting pics (as you can see below :p) so I dunno, maybe this could help you a bit? Last year when I built mine, I ended up removing the stock cooler of my AMD cpu, and replacing with a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and a bunch of 120mm fans. I don't see any reason why you can't have yours facing the back like mine. Of course, it probably means removing the motherboard for access to brackets, and you also need to do some case measurements and cooler measurements (for whatever cooller you want) to make sure you can put the side cover of the case back on.

As it was :

Fitted, with enough clearance for side cover to go back:
